A very topical tale for this year. It's wonderfully nostalgic and unfolds like a true Hartnell adventures. The characters all feel right and it's got one of those signature Ian Potter twists used to good effect. I did feel a little let down by the ending. After the setup was so wonderfully done it felt like the ending was rushed. I also thought that the big reveal was a bit of a letdown. I'll put this one under a spoiler tag, because even though this one has been out a while I have no idea who's listened to it or not. {Spoiler}I felt like it was a bit of a cheat to have the villain be the machine itself manipulating the city to create what it considered the "perfect" environment. I think that it would have been much stronger if it was a sort of subconscious gestalt of all the city's minds. Basically it was the innate dislike for the unlike that everyone has being manifest within Limbus. Only, since it was pooled from the minds of the whole city it was far more powerful than any individual. The solution should have been to reveal to people that it was really the innate dark feelings within themselves that had caused the problem, things that they'd be horrified by if they consciously knew they were doing them. I've posted a few more thoughts here. What did anyone else think?

I just listened to this one last week, for the first time, so it's fresh on my mind, going thru 3 stories a night, means they run together pretty well, after a week or 2.
This story was pretty good, William Russell is still talented as an actor at his age, and does a great doctor, the baddie is a real but-hole, and that's a plus, when you hate the bad guy, it shows that the actor is doing a good job.
The plot twist I sort of saw coming fairly early on, but I didn't expect the full twist, with the doctor and vicki and Barbara all showing up, OH, SPOILER ALERT, It coincided with me getting series 9 of the dvd set, and I got to watch Last Christmas, they go together fairly well. When do dreams end and reality start?
Anyway, i'll listen to it again in a while, and I'm sure it will be even better, I think I gave it an overall rating of 7-8 in the **** ******, which is pretty solid for me, since I have had CC's rated 1 cause 0 isn't available.
