Recast Christopher Eccleston? No way!!! We don't need Ninth Doctor audios just yet; I am sure there is so much more to come form Big Finish now that they have new series properties, so if they can't persuade Christopher Eccleston to pop in to a studio for some voice work, let's hold off for a while with Ninth Doctor stuff rather than think about recasting an actor who is very much alive and who could change his mind about doing Big Finish audios easily enough. Personally, I don't think it will take Christopher Eccleston as long as it took Tom Baker, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

No one seems to mention getting Matt Smith back, is that because he was so recent or because we're a bit 'meh' about his Doctor? Just wondering. Smith has not been on my mind so much with these NuWho announcements and I think it's simply because he hasn't been gone long at all. I expect 11th Doctor audios will eventually happen. I do suspect that it would be hard to get everyone in the studio for them just now as those cast members seem to be getting a decent amount of work thrown at them at the moment.

Since Moffat has gone on record saying that he gave the 11th Doctor huge gaps of time so Big Finish would have lots to play with, the truth is all you really need is for Matt Smith to be available. I'm willing to bet 11 won't be that far away. As for the 9th Doctor. No to recasting please. If CE decides he is ready one day, then great. If not, well, there is plenty of Doctor Who left for Big Finish to explore & create.

With their potentially massive new audience coming on board for New Who, I would bet my house they'd wait a long, LONG time before considering recasting Eccleston. I doubt the BBC would even let them if they wanted.

Tennant actively sought to work with BF before he was the Doctor and Tate has already played Donna for BF (albeit a coproduction with AudioGo). If this report isn't correct at the moment, I don't expect it to be too long before it is.
As for CE, I'd love him to return, even if it's just a one off boxset. If he never does, then perhaps a CC style release or two for the likes of Micky or Jackie could fill the void?
I certainly wouldn't want a recast 9th Doctor, doing so for the sadly departed actors I can live with, but to recast because the originator isn't currently interested in reprising the role would be in awfully bad taste in my opion.

Tennant and Tate: Yeah, I would be shocked if they aren't announced for Big Finish soon. No way would David Tennant let anything stop him from reprising the 10th Doctor for BF and Catherine Tate seems to enjoy working with him too. I think she would jump at the chance to play Donna with David Tennant again. 9 Companion Chronicles: Yeah, I think that would be the easiest way for them to produce 9th Doctor audio dramas at the moment. I don't see why Noel Clarke and Camille Coduri wouldn't do them.

I think its extremely disrespectful to recast while those actors are still alive. Hold out for 9. 10 would be cool but im not all that interested in him.
