I was also thinking of the Third Man the entire time they were in Vienna but I missed the Cat reference. However I thought that the use of the Ferris Wheel was a direct reference to The Third Man.
Constance's husband also reminds me of Harry Lime but not exactly.
I absolutely loved all the Flip & Constance scenes (and yes it is the type of interaction I was hoping for with Mel & Ace) and so happy they will most likely be paired up in the next 6th Doctor Trilogy. Three tends to be the perfect number in the Tardis for me.
However I thought we didn't know what happened to Flip after Scavenger. Only after looking it up did I realize it was revealed in the last Peri trilogy. I did listen to that but it was before I heard Flip's stories and didn't remember. I don't know not sure I liked that they dealt with what happened to Flip off screen.
I can't say I cared much for the Sci-fi elements in this story. In fact I don't even know if I fully followed it but I did love the human elements Constance with her husband and Constance with Flip. I also loved the Post-War setting.

Yeah, I received replacement discs and I hadn't requested them. (Didn't even notce the mistake until it was mentioned here!) But yes, well done and thanks Big Finish. That was great customer service.

My replacement discs arrived today. So yay for that. Now I'm trying to figure out who I want to try and convert into a fan of Big Finish audio by passing the incorrect discs along to.

(I'm listening through all of Constance's stuff right now after years of Main Range neglect.) Well I absolutely loved that one. That's how you do character arcs. That's it right there. This is almost the Sixth Doctor's Death in the Family with two different companion storylines coming together, lots of different emotional beats playing out and a standalone story that almost has nothing to do with it all but facilitates the character moments quite well. This is definitely my favourite Constance story so far, building off of her first story (which I'd call the next best) beautifully. Roll on the 2017 stuff! EDIT: Oh wait! This means I'm finally done 2016! What a year for the Main Range. I'd rank 'em: Quicksilver The Two Masters Aquitaine And You Will Obey Me The Peterloo Massacre Waters of Amsterdam Order of the Daleks Vampire of the Mind Absolute Power Life of Crime Memory Bank Maker of Demons Fiesta of the Damned
Clearly I have the opinion that the quality dipped in the middle, but even at its weakest the Main Range was never bad. I just don't remember much from those bottom three. Everything from Order of the Daleks up (more than half the year!) was superb. The range was on its seventeenth year here and the wear does not show - how many series can say that?

I actually had my first listen of Quicksilver not too long ago myself. It was quite a good story. I'm actually a little ahead of you on the Main Range, constocks . But I've taken a break to catch up on some other ranges.

I'm actually a little ahead of you on the Main Range, constocks . I don't know how I got so far behind on Constance - I started Order of the Daleks not long after it came out but started drifting off (not due to the quality of the story, mind) and never went back to it. But it means I get six stories at once instead of three so I can't complain.

I got really far behind on the Main Range because I was jumping on the latest releases of Eighth Doctor, Benny, Gallifrey, War Doctor, and Torchwood. I think that covers it. As a result of my Main Range catch-up, I am now behind in all the aforementioned ranges (except War Doctor). Also, I have the War Master to listen to, haven't done that one yet.
