I was quite pleased to get to decide where Sir Toby went to school. I went for St Aloysius' College in Glasgow. Just the kind of place that would be turning out well-spoken Roman Catholic boys who used to play rugby. The school motto is "I am born for greater things", I think Sir Toby took it to heart. You are probably right... 1.2-Troubled Waters-Ian PotterRelistened to this story a night ago and how wonderful the sound design is.You can the claustrophobic atmosphere Hahahah. This is a great story of psychic espionage/Cold War.I really love this team especially in the absence of aliens too they work so bloody well together.Maybe am just one of the few who enjoyed the older versions of them. They knock Torchwood out of the ball park everytime

Very good set of stories. Nothing To See Here was an interesting take on how to make yourself invisible. Troubled Waters was very weird and spooky. The Phoenix Strain definitely made me think of The Birds. A Gamble With Time was a great story with a clever twist.

The Phoenix Strain - I read a review that said this was the weakest of The New Counter Measures, but I don't agree at all. The story was very engaging with secret biological experiments at the heart of it, and the sound design added to the atmosphere. 8 out of 10. This set has echoes of the Alan J Pakula films of the 70s, like The Parallax view. Long may it continue! I always thought it really deserved a sequel and after seeing the vicious habits of some pigeons and seagulls over the last year or so lol...birds in the neighbourhood dont ever look the same anymore 😂

Oh, I forgot to say that I was amused that someone named Starling was working in a lab investigating bird flu. I suspect the choice of name was not accidental.
