Halfway through McMillions a Documentary series about the McDonalds Monopoly game fraud of the 80s and 90s, fascinating and a prime example of truth being more outrageous then fiction.

Skins, first episode Always been curious about this show! I was too young to watch it when they first showed it on BBC America but the ads always intrigued me! People either seem to love or hate skins, it seems to be a very marmite series 🤔 From the first episode though I thought it was really good with some very real feeling performances by the teenage cast!😊 I particularly liked the very awkward Sid😁 I think I am going to binge it and see how I liked he rest of it!😀

Hello everyone! I've recently watched 'Secret Wars' in the 'Spider-Man' TV series - bradleybasement.wordpress.com/spider-man/secret-wars-tv/This three-parter could make a great superhero movie starring the likes of Tobey Maguire/Tom Holland, Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis...Chris Evans again (Hey I’d rather have the 2005 Fantastic Four than the 2015 ones), Robert Downey Jr. and Halle Berry. Tim.

MASH: Season 10, Episodes 6-7 - I think I've finally come to accept that Winchester is a better addition to the cast than Frank Burns.
Hill Street Blues: Season 2, Episodes 5-6 - You'd think police officers would already know what "fruits of the poisonous tree" means, but I guess we have to explain it to the audience...

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Blown Away. Competition a la Masterchef based around glassblowing. Watched the first episode on a whim, stayed for the whole thing. Unexpectedly entertaining.

Fell into a You Tube rabbit hole and watched a couple of episodes of the 1970s detective drama, Harry O with David Jannsen.

MASH: Season 10, Episodes 8-9 - The conclusion to the series' last 2-parter and an odd little Boxing Day episode.
Hill Street Blues: "Chipped Beef" - Herein we illustrate the difference between covering for a good person in trouble, and covering for an unrepentant scumbag...
Only Fools and Horses: "Christmas Crackers" - So begins the 470 Christmas specials this show produced. Felt kind of slapped together, but Grandad's mishap with the turkey giblets is worth the price of admission.

Only Fools and Horses: "Christmas Crackers" - So begins the 470 Christmas specials this show produced. Felt kind of slapped together, but Grandad's mishap with the turkey giblets is worth the price of admission. It does lack a narrative, except for Xmas Day being a non event with botched dinner, and nothing on the telly except for the Circus. Grandad's Giblets is as you say the best bit. Another thing that raised a smile though, but I don't know how it carries overseas, is Del Boy's medical advice in the club to his mate, where he writes out a 'prescription' to give the Doctors: "Tell them they wanna get her some of this." "I can't pronounce that, Del." "Its An. Tee. Bi. O. Ics." "Oh Cheers for that Del". Truth be told it was well into its run before they had a run of special extended episodes that their seasonal xmas reputation was built on, with 'The Frogs Legacy', 'Dates' and 'The Jolly Boy's Outing' being the undisputed 'classics'. Others are like the 1970's Cinema adaptations of British sit-coms which manage to capture none of the sharpness and wit of their TV versions, whilst others have too much Drama or location filming at the expense of jokes and situations. The 5 series of 30 minute episodes up to 1986, the aforementioned three feature length episodes and the 50 minute series of 1989 are to my mind the sharpest and funniest. After that, it seemed a case at the time that they did not know when to call a halt and it became padded out and prone to Jumping the Shark. All the better reason to watch it in order though and I do hope you get into it even more with series 2, 3 & 4, which are the episodes where the show's reputation is all about.

Well, I don't know about a general overseas audience, but Mr Polly and I are well acquainted with certain British accents having a serious disagreement with the letter T. We have a Londoner friend with whom we often discuss "car'oons." Anyhow, I look forward to the rest of the show, we are certainly enjoying it so far! We have a while to go yet before any of the extended specials. So does Only Fools kind of morph into more of a dramedy like MASH has?

We have a while to go yet before any of the extended specials. So does Only Fools kind of morph into more of a dramedy like MASH has? I'm really pleased you are both enjoying it. I would say that from the 1990 series it changed in tone. The end of the 1989 series saw Rodney get married in a very poignant finale, which left Del Boy on his own. It was a high point drama wise that they kept trying to capture again, like lightning in a bottle. It then became more of an ensemble piece, with Del also getting married and with a kid, the flat actually doubled in size inexplicably (for cast reasons) and there had to be something for all the long term regulars to chip in with every episode, as opposed to appearing individually now and again, they now worked together like the Bar scenes in Cheers. A lot of plot lines focused on marital misunderstandings and 'the mouse playing whilst the cat is away' style situations, rather than two wheeler dealer brothers ducking and diving. There was more serious segments about Rodney's wife miscarrying, their getting rich towards the end, visual gags as Batman & Robin, going to Miami and having a Mafia Double.... The biggest issue was that they no longer (from 1990) bounced off each other, but with their Wives and that there seemed to be a sense that the actors thought they were being funnier, because the studio audience would be in stitches (and would pause whilst they were guffawing), more owing to being starstruck than at what they were watching. A bit like latter day Cheers and Roseanne, to pick two across the pond examples. That's not to say its BAD. Its is still very GOOD. Audiences loved it and high ratings kept it being resurrected, but it was a different kettle of fish when it was revived. Remember it finished in 1986, with just one-off annual specials, before the writer was encouraged to think up a fresh reason to start it up again. and again... I enjoyed most of the revival episodes at the time. But as with the family, it is the original series run, which ended with Del (no.. spoilers) that we always re-watch, past the point of knowing off by heart. I even have the published complete scripts volumes, but have never needed to read them... So I hope that's not too much history. The Key run IS timeless, but nothing lasts forever.

No, that's not too much history at all, it was an interesting read. It's nice to hear about how it was received at the time - it's been 17 years since the last special, never mind when it was a regular series, so I'm just a little late to the party... That, and being from Canada, it's not well known here to like Python or Fawlty were, so I don't really have word-of-mouth either.

MASH: "Follies of the Living, Concerns of the Dead" - I never expected this show to delve into something that's indisputably supernatural. In fact, the ending is extremely similar to the Twilight Zone episode "The Passersby." They kinda set up Klinger as being in-tune with the paranormal due to a fever, but never actually did anything with it. Could have been a much better constructed script than it was.
