Only Fools and Horses: "Diamonds Are for Heather" - Nothing like songs about dead dogs to get into the holiday spirit.
MASH: Season 11, Episodes 10-11 - Hawkeye and BJ are about ready to kill Winchester for his snoring, which is a rage I know only too well thanks to Mr Polly's nocturnal concertos.

Hill Street Blues: "Gung Ho" - I like that they've kept a consistent group of rookies throughout the season after introducing them early on. It helps to flesh out the station outside the main cast and not just fill it with extras. On the other hand, I have noticed the same extras time and again, so clearly they were at least thinking about that from the get-go.
MASH: "Say No More" - Margaret's hair is beginning to resemble a small poodle.

Spent the last few days watching Season 2 of Jordan Peele's The Twilight Zone revival. Where season 1 was a seesaw back and forth between brilliant and absolutely awful, this season really threaded that line right through the middle, for an overall 'meh'....except for the finale, which was utterly dreadful.
I think part of the problem with this revival series is that virtually every episode has stunt casting. Yes I know, it's The Twilight Zone and everyone wants a piece of that action, but the point and strength of the original series is in its compelling and thought-provoking storytelling. With the revival, not only is that lacking, but I'm also constantly distracted by 'oh it's that guy,' or 'oh it's so-and-so from that other show!' and really takes me out of the story.

I watched some of the first season but couldn't get into it. I think the running time was a factor for me. The episodes in the original show were a concise 30 minutes, going over that for me doesn't suit the format.

i just finished steven king's the outsider reaxd by will paton audiobook and loved it
so i watched 3 episodes of the tv series its so so
thgey changed locations from oklahoma in the midddle of summer to south caroliner in what looks like the fall maybe even winter.
the heat (and it gets HOT) of the oklhoma summer really gave the book atmosphere
the watered down some of the court case which i think takes away from the show
they changed my favorite character so im not sure i will continue

I found the first season to be an excruciating experience. I think there was one good episode and maybe two or three more with potential that didn't quite make it. Too damn long and too damn stupid was the general impression I got. Then there was the frequently unnecessary vulgarity. Did not come back for the second season, most articles I saw indicated that more or less the same flaws were present. But, I do love the original series very much, so based on your viewing, do you think if I didn't like it to begin with, would Season 2 change that?

On the whole I found the second season more 'steady,' but not better. But like I said I thought there were a couple of terrific ones in the first year, but you and I disagree on that. So.... *shrug* lol

Sounds like a no for me, then. I'm glad it's at least stabilizing, because it really was all over the place first time round. Thanks anyway lol

Hill Street Blues: "Moon Over Uranus" - The episode title that started a hilarious war between Steven Bochco and NBC. It just goes to show the depths of network censor insanity that they demanded the title be changed because it's too crude... on a show where the episode title is never displayed on screen at all.
Never mind the graphic violence and racial slurs they'd gotten away with by this point already, among many, many other transgressions which you'd think NBC would object to more strongly than a rude pun most viewers will never see. Of all the things to get hung up on, that sure is a weird one.

Just binge-watched Stranger Things, season 1. This was my first viewing (yes, I'm late to the party on this). I think it was very well done with lots of Easter eggs and nods to its predecessors.

Blew through the third season of Westworld over the weekend. Really strong first half, but totally fell apart in the second half of the season IMO. Hopefully season 4 gets back on track. Just now I've finally started watching Watchmen. Perpetually late to the party

Just now I've finally started watching Watchmen. Perpetually late to the party I couldn't get into Westworld, didn't make it to the end of season 1. I've been dying to watch Watchmen but I don't have HBO, so I can't. I watched the first 2 episodes of Dark. Good stuff! I heard someone compare it to Stranger Things, but it seems a lot, well...darker. And while the 80s do play a part, there is not nearly the same level of nostalgia.

Hill Street Blues: "Moon Over Uranus: The Sequel" - Nothing like episode titles born of sheer spite toward the network tickle my fancy. This has been a good arc aside from that though. I forsee much drama boiling over as we're heading toward the finale.
MASH: "Friends and Enemies" - I think this show's reputation for recycling plots in its later years isn't entirely fair, but this episode is one of the handful that is absolutely guilty. The A-story is cobbled together from elements of past episodes without the slightest original twist. Meanwhile, the B-story is new-ish, but ignores so many previous events that the characters' behaviour becomes unbelievable.
