Last night I finished my watch-through of the 60's 'Batman' and 'Green Hornet' shows (which took me 3weeks to get through overall) and, after work this evening, I've been making my way through the 70s take on 'Wonder Woman' for the first time. I'm currently nearing the end of the second episode and have to say that I'm actually enjoying it far more than I thought I would!

Last night I finished my watch-through of the 60's 'Batman' and 'Green Hornet' shows I love the first two series of Batman, but have never seen the Green Hornet. How you you feel they compare (or contrast)? This was my first time seeing 'Green Hornet', I will say (outside of the crossover with 'Batman', of course), and I will say that it did really warm on me by the end (the irony in that it was an episode about an arsonist that made me say that ) & I'm sad that it only lasted for one series... They're in similar veins, but 'GH' is the more serious and 'straight' of the pair compared to Batman's camp 'fun' (also mainly focusing on 'one and done' episodes than two or three parters).

Deep Space Nine: "Q-Less". Q and Vash have had some Doctor Who adventures off-camera and I found myself imagining the Seventh Doctor and Bernice having the same argument at some point... DOCTOR: I'm back. I can see now it was cruel of me to leave you. BENNY: Very touching. But you didn't leave me, I left you. DOCTOR: You left me, I left you. Details, mere details. The important thing is we're back together again. A team, joined together at the hip. BENNY: Not a chance. DOCTOR: You know you're going to miss me. BENNY: Don't flatter yourself. DOCTOR: You know, I thought first we'd visit the Teleris Cluster, look in on the star dancers at Mundahla. Or maybe head over to the Lantar nebula and view the Sampalo relic on Hoek Four. BENNY: Not interested. DOCTOR: I know. Vadris Three. Charming little world. The natives think they're the only intelligent life in the universe. BENNY: No. DOCTOR: All right, you choose then. BENNY: I choose never to go anywhere with you again, Doctor. DOCTOR: You don't know what you're missing. When we started this little partnership, I promised to take you places no human had ever seen before. BENNY: And you have. It was wonderful. Thank you. Now goodbye. DOCTOR: Two years in the Gamma Quadrant hardly qualifies as a grand tour of the universe. There's still the Delta Quadrant to explore, not to mention all the other galaxies. BENNY: It's over, Doctor. I want you out of my life. You are arrogant, you are overbearing and you think you know everything. DOCTOR: But I do know everything. BENNY: That makes it even worse. DOCTOR: All right, fine, what is it you really want? BENNY: I want the life I had before I met you. DOCTOR: And a stellar life indeed. Professor Bernice Summerfield. Barred from the Royal Museum of Epsilon Hydra Seven, persona non grata on Betazed. Wanted dead on Myrmidon for stealing the Crown of the First Mother. BENNY: Dead or alive. DOCTOR: Preferably dead... It's a wonder you haven't offended every sentient race in the galaxy. BENNY: You're the one who almost got me killed on Errikang Seven. And they weren't exactly thrilled to see you on Brax either. What did they call you? The God of Lies? DOCTOR: They meant it affectionately. (DS9 Transcript by Chakoteya)

I've, once again, fallen back down the rabbit hole of Babylon 5. This time, in a telemovie format done by a chap called Subject Zero. Tough gig for those opening seasons, but a compelling way of restructuring the story, so it's "all arc, no filler". Those second, third and fourth seasons have got to be some of the best sci-fi television from that period.

I’d love to give it a watch but it looks a bit elusive to obtain which is a pity. Someone has uploaded them to Youtube

Hello again.
Hoorah, Inside No.9 is back. The inventive thirty minute anthology series usually with a little twist written by Shearsmith and Pemberton. I won't say much except to say lovely cast and enjoyable first episode.

Watched the first episode of The Boys. Ooh, this was good! They’re all such horrible people (well, except for poor Hughie and Annie) - I’m really looking forward to them getting their comeuppance.

Inside No. 9 - It's great to have the show back and the BBC seem to be promoting it more than ever, which is brilliant. As someone who isn't familiar with commedia dell'arte much of the theatre related gags went over my head, but I still got a lot of laughs out of it and a great piece of telly, so I can't ask for more.
Will be looking forward to Inside Inside No. 9 on BBC Sounds covering this series each week.

Hello again.
Me too Shallacatop, I know less than nothing about commedia dell'arte but thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast were brill, I still recognised Patterson Joseph's trademark twinkle even under a mask and Gemma Whelen's fourth wall breaking was well done too. Thanks for the heads up about the Inside Inside No.9 podcast, I shall gve it a listen.

Thanks for the heads up about the Inside Inside No.9 podcast, I shall gve it a listen. No worries, it's recommended! They started it last year for Series 5 and last week they did some "Classic" ones for The Riddle of the Sphinx, A Quiet Night In & 12 Days of Christine following a vote by listeners. Last night's episode, Wuthering Heights, is on BBC Sounds now, so I'd expect each one for Series 6 to be uploaded shortly after the episode has finished airing. They did commentaries on Soundcloud for, if I recall, the first three series (it's why I wish the "Classic" ones covered Series 4 for something truly new, especially Dead Line, but a minor quibble!), but they're no longer there, unfortunately. I'm hoping the show gets a BluRay set once the show finishes (on Series 9 hopefully!) and includes them as extras. Series1 1 &2 were DVD only, then when Series 3 came out on BluRay they released 1&2, Series 4 got a BR release too, but Series 5 was DVD only and Series 6 appears to be the same!

Hello again.
I found all that lovely extra material on Inside no. 9's podcast and started a listen so far funny and informative. As a wannabe writer, I'm fascinated by their writing and how they manage to keep that restrictive premise fresh and engaging. Those episodes you mentioned are just brilliant. Each one is a carefully crafted jewel of a script and the hutzpah of that live episode which I watched live was excellent. Here's to next week.

I happened to catch Inside No 9 and quite enjoyed it, despite knowing nothing about the series other than it’s reputation as being good. As entire series is on iPlayer an might give it a go.

Hello again.
You have 5 series to explore Sherlock lucky you. The basic premise is that each 30 minute story can only take place in one location. The genre and way the story is presented can change week to week. The guest cast is usuallytop drawer. Obviously with half of the League of Gentlemen there are macabre and horror elements in some episodes. The key is to tell a good story, sometimes with a twist. I remember when I first discovered this series, some of the stories are really special and stick in the memory long after the final credits haverolled. A little fun fact, in each episode there is a hare somewhere in the episode. It can be an image of a hare or a little hare statue in some episodes it is hidden really sneakily. Hope you find some stories that you like.

Hope you enjoy! I don't think it hits gold every single time, as is par for the course with anthologies, but the sheer variety of stories and hit rate is impressive.

So to cap a very unusual week in entertainment I've just channel hopped and seen Matt Smith playing a "Zealous" Guardian Reporter facing off against Steve Coogan's Alan Partridge on "Comedy Show" This Time Regards mark687

Season 4 finale of "Young Sheldon". Not a comedic episode at all- full out family drama, looks like the "beginning" of what adult Sheldon said in season 10 of TBBT. But knowing how the producers know we want to see this storyline, its probably a big misdirection.
ep 10 of "Walker"..

Last night’s This Time with Alan Partridge. One of, if not the, best episode of This Time yet. A great appearance from our very own Matt Smith, a very funny bit that’s a nod back to an episode of Mid Morning Matters, and plenty of laughs in between.
