Jimmy McGovern's new prison drama Time starring Sean Bean & Stephen Graham. Fantastic but what else to expect from McGovern, one of our finest writers.

Loki! I was always kind of indifferent to Loki as a character in the MCU, so I watched the first episode almost out of obligation. Loved it. So much fun! The premise and cast are great (always nice to spot someone that appeared in DW). I'm loving the creative weirder side of these Disney+ shows and look forward to seeing where this one goes.

Just finished the first episode of Loki. Really enjoyed that; mysterious, interesting. I'm excited to see where this goes.

So there's a possibility of JL characters reappearing in it, but nothing to suggest one way or another whether that'll happen (and even if it happens, it'll be voice-only.)

A quick rewatch of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. [After stung by the Dubstep Bees] "Why am I suddenly, and uncontrollably, good at dancing?" "The Queen's sting causes Dance Fever, honey. You're going to be okay." [quiet aside] "She's not going to be okay, if we don't do something, she'll dance until she dies." Ah, yes, the unconventional peril -- I forgot this show was really good at making its setting weird, wonderful and indescribably dangerous. All at the same time. Trouble with Tribbles. I think I know this one by heart by now. A classic. Let's face it, we've all had days like Kirk does on Station K-7, at some point in our lives.

Finally finished The Clone Wars this morning... the last few episodes of Season 7 were the absolute highlight of the entire show and if they were edited into a movie, I’d go so far as to say it’d be one of the best Star Wars films, period. This was some real moving stuff. I think I’m always going to remember that final scene with Vader as one of Star Wars’ most haunting moments.
Anyways, moving to The Bad Batch later today! Hope to be fully caught up by the end of the weekend!

Tim Firth's 2000 BBC series "Border Cafe". A rock star quits at the height of her fame to return to the small town on the English/Welsh border where she grew up, to spend time with her builder boyfriend and open a cafe that becomes home to a series of eccentric customers, with a waitress who played her in a copycat band till they sacked her as now surplus to requirements... This series (produced by Steven Moffat's mother-in-law, I believe) may possibly have been uploaded to a certain video website. I remember it being very funny and quirky, but not how incredibly *sad* it all is.
Saw the last episode today. This was ostensibly a comedy-drama, but, oh, that ending. Not simply sad, but painful.
(And also very clever, because it's punctuated by the amusing and upbeat B-plot, just to underline how awful things turn out)

Fear the Walking Dead S6E16 (Season finale, so obviously big spoilers to follow) {Spoiler} Well, that was... somewhat anticlimactic. The villains all died, big surprise! All the meaningful goodies survived, even bigger surprise! /sarcasm
Seriously, for all the "big stakes" the dropping of ten nukes should have had, the actual consequences feel totally negligible. Sure, there'll likely be a huge fallout (no pun intended) in Season 7, but there should have been more of an immediate impact. Knowing everyone who matters survived the blasts means they're either going to manage to continue surviving through the radioactive landscape, or we're going to watch them desperately try to survive and then all collapse from radiation poisoning. I don't know why but despite the potential drama the latter situation should promise, I don't think that would be terribly interesting to watch. And let's be real - if we follow one of our groups of survivors only for that group to fail and drop dead, it will feel like a pretty pointless investment in the characters for the season. May as well have just killed them off when the bombs hit.
What annoys me the most about the ending is that despite the "bringing everyone back together" thing Season 6 was supposed to be all about, we've now gone and split everyone up again! And, according to an interview I've just read, we're apparently going to be sticking with the "anthology" feel for S7 too. I don't know about anyone else, but I thought the anthology shake up was wearing a bit thin by the end of this season, so to know the next season is doing the same thing really doesn't get me feeling excited for it.
I do have hope that the future of the show will be good. S6 has proven that the new producers can get it right, I just wish they could do it more consistently. I'd cross my fingers and hold my breath that this will become the case in S7, but I don't have that much faith in them. Maybe by S8, but they seriously need to stop splitting everyone up like this by then. "Finding one another" is an incredibly boring focus for a narrative, and this show's basically been doing that in one form or another for the best part of the last three seasons. It's time for a change!

Today I passed the halfway point of 'Arrow' (4.16) and have to say that, overall, I'm certainly enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would (the fact that I've watched 87 episodes in just over two-weeks kind of suggests as such ).
