Awesome cover, visually striking & enticing once again, is this incarnation of the Monk before or after the Graeme Garden incarnation as this Monk battled the Second Doctor in a earlier adventure.

I thought "Edward Collier" was a pseudonym/pen name for Ken Bentley and David Richardson? OK!! So the mystery is solved???

The last box set was Epic, this finale looks to be even more Epic (if that is possible!) And having the Eighth Doctor encounter the Monk again will be emotional regardless of where the Monk is in his own timeline. Does anyone know if Graeme Garden is still working? He hasn't been on I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue the last few series?

I'd also prefer if the gap between Doom Coalition and the Time War really kicking off was stretched as wide as possible, I've enjoyed all the boxsets to date but a return to the more carefee and zany stories of the younger 8th Doctor would be a welcome break from all the doom and gloom and intricate plotting of late.
Still waiting for the Samson And Gemma story with the Killer Guitars...
I've said it before, but I'll say it again a Company of Friends style boxset or two with some of his old companions (such as Mary, Tamsin, Fitz and Izzy) would be really fun.

I'm really excited, but also a little conflicted about this. Eighth Doctor, The Eleven, terrific companions, Modern Series elements are all great. Written by two of my favorite writers, John Dorney and Matt Fitton means the writing should be superb. The things that concern me....First, I'm not so happy about what might be the beginning of the Time War. Or that we are mighty close to the beginning of the Time War. With Olestra and Veklin, it seems that way. I know that we are getting an Eight Time War story next year, but I was hoping that we had a lot more Eight stories that will be happening way before then in his timeline. I'm one of those folks who's not so keen on setting a ton of stories during the War. I feel like it will diminish it in my imagination, as well as bring Eight to an even more morose and conflicted place than we've already seen him. I don't mind that every once in a while, but I really hope that it's not all we are going to get with Eight going forward. Also, I was devastated by To The Death. I have been aching for an Eight and Monk meeting that will address all that had happened and then allow Eight to move forward. And maybe this will be it, but with so much going on and the story having to move the DC plot along, I'm not expecting it. I hope that their first meeting since Lucie with be satisfying, but, we'll, I'm not sure it will be. Well, with all this being said, I am really looking forward to hearing this. I suppose you, like me, love the more carefree, spirited and fun-loving version of the 8th Doctor. I would like that once the DC storyline is finished, we had more independent and not so heavily linked stories with 8 ,Liv and Helen (wasn't it endearing when Paul McGann did ask Nick Briggs to please pretty please be allowed to keep his companions more time? In the podcast from LI) I would love him to pay a visit to Jago and Litefoot or go having adventures with his companions on different times and places I'm not that keen on him entering the TW territory just yet. Please let the guy have a bit of fun! I know it's almost impossible but I would kill to have more Lucie stories on the main range or something You're a woman after my own heart. I agree with all of this. And as for the LI Who podcast, I was lucky enough to be in the audience when he asked Nick that question. Yes, it was endearing. In fact, most of what Paul McGann does is endearing.

Isn't there a 8th Doctor/BBC novel where he has an adventure with Litefoot? I would love, love, love to see the McGann Doctor have some adventures with Jago & Litefoot. Perhaps with Mary Shelley as well.

Yeah, there's a lot to take in. I'm certainly intrigued to see an older incarnation of The Monk playing against the Doctor whom he has the most personal history. It'll be interesting to see how much Tamsin weighs on him. Rufus Hound was great casting as The Monk and Black Hole was, for me, the first real knockout 10/10 from the Early Adventures so getting more is certainly welcome.
I'm eager to find how this ends the DC era for The Doctor. I think either Liv or Helen may be in for a sticky end. I'm also hopeful we'll quickly learn what's next for McGann. We're getting the Time War boxset one-off, but if I remember right the liner notes for Dark Eyes 4 told us about Doom Coalition and teased some details before BF announced it online, in DWM or on podcasts. I thought that was a lovely treat for buyers and would like to see that kind of fan-reward reveal again.

I have a feeling that they will be around for at least another boxset. (Crossing fingers.) I really don't want to see Eight lose another companion.
