Looking forward to this time travel series. Anyone else? If it helps, here in Canada it has already started and I found the first episode quite good, just haven't got around to the others.

So finally America conjures up their own Who competitor, and it's debuting on E4.

I shall watch it with interest.

Yeah, it doesn't look like a U.S. version of Doctor Who to me. I'd say it looks closer to Back to the Future than Doctor Who.

Well if you want to get even more technical, it's a US pseudo-version of a Spanish show called El Ministerio del Tiempo (The Ministry of Time), which is exactly what it sounds like.

Just watched the pilot. I thought it was so-so - not terrible but not particularly great either. There's certainly a lot of potential on display but at the same time there's plenty of problems with the show that need to be ironed out too. For instance, we never get to see properly how any of these changes affect the present day.
There's a scene at the end where Lucy finds her sister doesn't exist after the Hidenburg's destruction occurs differently but we don't see what happened to modern times when the first Hidenburg disaster never occurred. Given that the Hidenburg disaster hadn't happened at that point, surely that would have had a massive effect on 2010s America?
All that would have been required to show that would have been a cut to a changed 2010s America.

It was enjoyable. A lot of it I'd seen before but i will stick with it to see what happens and how the little seeds that were dropped grow.
Also for some reason the ending reminded me of the Sliders pilot lol

Episode 2 was an improvement. It didn't feel quite so rushed to me. The emotional moments were given time to sink in and the dramatic moments were genuinely exciting. It's still not perfect but definitely a step in the right direction.

I'm surprised that no one has talked about this show since it started I'm in the process of catching up with it ( I'm watching episode 8: Space Race) and I think it's excellent, with a whole lot of potential going forward. Which probably means that they are going to cancel it.

Which probably means that they are going to cancel it. It's sad that seems to be the default state for any science fiction series that's actually going places. UFO? Killed after it's first season as it didn't sell well in America (a common death knell for Anderson shows). Firefly? Killed before finishing its very first season because they didn't understand the concept. Crusade? Mangled beyond all reproach by the higher-ups wanting to turn it into something it wasn't. Babylon 5 and Stargate SG-1 may be two of a handful of shows where they got to do their myth arcs all the way to their natural conclusions without a lot of truly damaging tampering.

Oh, and in this one, Space Race, Katherine Johnson is a major part in this one. The woman that Taraji P Henson plays in Hidden Figures. That's awesome!
