The audiobook version seems faulty. Episode 1 only plays until the end of the opening theme then stops. I've downloaded it twice to make sure it wasn't me.
I've tweeted BF about it.
Anyone else got the same problem?

I've done that too Tony,
They're rebuilding the audiobook version now so the fault will be corrected in the next 1-2 hours.

Flies along at a fair old pace, helped by two very different locations. Redmond's Rani is much better realised this time round as well, felt she was slightly lacking on her first appearance but she's really strong here. 9/10 for me.

I found her Rani far more Time Lordish this time around, I was rather underwhelmed in her first audio, in fact I wondered if she was in a coma. Now I rather like her. A good month so far from BF.

Very much enjoyed this release. Sixie, Constance, the Rani, everybody was spot-on. And the whole thing (but especially the prison) had a wonderfully creepy vibe to it, made all the better by me listening to it while I was driving in the dark yesterday.

What a chilling exploration of The Rani's character, stripping the character of her campy venner. At this point however, I'm struggling to see why The Doctor does hold so much affection for her - even if she is from his school days and hints of a past relationship (which, can I just love that this incarnation has the attiude of this incarnation in her dealings: "What was I thinking of?"). He has been on past occasion quicker to condemn The Master, school days be damned. And that ending....well, a black heart is a heart, I guess.
I actually do like Big Finish have played down The Doctor and Rani's past relationship - it makes her less of an 'angry woman' and more of a chilling villian in her own right.

Interesting, and entertaining, I agree with the comments, I think both the combination of the writing and the actress, Siobhan Redmond who has moulded this character to being very much her own affair, after the sad death of Kate O'Mara, as certainly in this release come of age a lot more, I look forward to more releases, with the Rani. I also must pay my congratulations to our new companion in the shape of Constance Clarke, whom I am really liking, she is a just excellent, she has seemingly slipped into the part like she has been at old sixie's side for years. Again looking forward to more releases with all and some in future BF catalogue.

Awaiting CD to be re-sent as i had to send my copy back because it was damaged, why are Big Finish so slow at sending out there orders, there was a time I'd get a product within four days now it takes around ten days?

I was surprised by the inexorable pace, high energy, and strong menace in the first episode. This is the sort of tension you don't usually get until a fourth episode. I'm left wondering whether this structure was intentionally planned at the outset, or whether the first episode was tacked on when the rest of the story looked more like it would run to three episodes. Either way, the story kicks off with a bang.
The weakest cliffhanger was the end of episode 2, but you're a bit limited when your new companion isn't a screamer.

I liked this story, but I'm a bit confused about the Rani's timeline now. She apparently left Miasimia Goria when none of her subjects could sleep and hasn't been back since. Why them, has she been to Lakertya and the CAGE since she tried to get the brain fluid, but she never tried to go back to her palace until after she was arrested?

Not sure if I was in the wrong mood for this, but I stopped it halfway through episode one. It just didn't grab my attention. I usually love Miranda Raison, but I think she's overacting it a bit as Constance. I really don't like the accent she's using.
I think I'm going to have to start this one again.
