The way she and The War Doctor seem to flirt while really quite angry, often disgusted, at the other is something really quite intriguing. I like having a new character who has this history with The Doctor to explore and speculate on. Seems like a lot of that history will be explored in the McGann Time War set.

I really REALLY hope Ollistra is not Romana. No. Just no. There's a real trend in geeky pop culture these days for everyone to have to secretly be someone else usually for a cheap pop. It's hardly new. Doctor Who did it in 2007 with Professor Yana, for instance.

You might think of 2007 as a bygone age but I'm talking about a modern trend in pop culture TV, film and comics - I think we can go all out and include the dark, misty recesses of 2007 in that definition of "modern". And I never said it's a new plot point - only that its one we see more and more these days.

I'm disturbed by the use of words such as "final" and "finale" in the article. I'm not prepared for less John Hurt in my listening schedule.

Looking forward to it. How brilliant is it that we managed to get an entire series of John Hurt playing an incarnation of the Doctor?

Watching BBC1's new drama SS-GB tonight, and found that lead actor Sam Riley (Douglas Archer) with his raspy tones sounds remarkably like the late, great Sir John Hurt when he too was in his thirties.
A potential freshly regenerated War Doctor (Doctor Who) for BF perhaps?

So in the end War is for me every great trait of the Doctor. Matt Smith should thank the Acting Fates everyday that he was privileged to be at the demount.
Lovely mix of scale and intimacy throughout
A grand yet at same time subtle Farewell performance
Louise Jameson almost filling in for Billie Piper but with such deeper conviction.
Thank you Sir John Hurt for letting us have some of your last precious time and energy and BF for making the Not Doctor one of most Doctor Doctor's ever.
Regards

When I went to the Big Finish site and saw that this had been released I had a sudden rush of joy... Then I got quite sad.
I will miss John Hurt.

I've just finished (re)listening to 'Agents Of Chaos' and will be beginning to listen to 'Casualties Of War' shortly, once I've grabbed a coffee & quickly watched a bit of Youtube...
Well, this'll be something!

"On days like this, stupid is all I do..."
Well, 'Pretty Lies' was certainly an interesting way to start off the final box!

I haven't got round to listening to the 3rd set yet, but this will be very bittersweet listening indeed, many thanks to Sir John, Stephen Moffat and BF for giving us 13 hours with such a fascinating Doctor.

I thought Pretty Lies was a terrific start to the set. Yet another different and interesting slant on the Time War, with a great role for Ollistra. Hurt and Pearce don't put a foot out of line in this range at all and it's been a joy to listen to.
As an aside, I love how all of these sets have happened back-to-back, some of the events impeding on surrounding sets more than others. It's very clearly a fortnight of the War Doctor and Ollistra's life. It's substantial enough to craft an era, but barely scratches the surface. It seems perfect to me for the Time War; a long lived and complex character fighting in a long and complex war.
