Released March 2017In the Vortex, the TARDIS comes under a form of psychic attack – resulting in the abductions of first Adric, then Tegan. Just listened to the free first episode and really enjoyed it. Sparky dialogue (the description of Fifth's celery was certainly novel and gave me a big grin) and a highly intriguing set-up. Spooky cliffhanger too. Looking forward to hearing the rest!

Just listened to this for the review podcast...
It's very very good.
I avoided any chat or notes for this story and... apart from a tiny bit of confusion I can honestly say... it's a lovely bit of 80s action.
It feels like a genuine story from the era.

Ok...
Steps onto political correctness tight rope... trifold of causing offence.
Rebecca Roots performance is very very good.
Bur she used to be male and has some vocal inflection that is a hang over of this. This is no one's fault.
I went into listening to this un aware of this. And gor confused when the character is referee to using a pronown.
And... it took me ou of the story for a few seconds while I realised what was happening.
To be honest it's such a tiny and pointless point that it's hardly worth mentioning as it is such a strong character in such a strong story

Ah, that must be hours:minutes. I was reading it as minutes:seconds for just a moment there and feeling terribly cheated.

To be honest it's such a tiny and pointless point that it's hardly worth mentioning as it is such a strong character in such a strong story Hey, well, this is a pretty good opportunity to talk about these kinds of topics! It's really good that you're aware that this is sensitive to some people, and I'm also glad that when you listened to the play in the car, some of your issues with vocal mixing went away. The only thing I think you could do better is referring to the actress' past. You said that she "used to be a man." I absolutely get where you're coming from with that phrasing! One thing I've picked up from interacting with trans people is that they didn't really "used" to be anything; not only is she a woman now, she was always a woman! So if you want to communicate that an actress is transgender, and/or indicate what gender they're presenting, one good way of saying it instead of "used to be a man" or "became a woman" is "she transitioned." Similarly, if you want to communicate a change in gender presentation, here is the terminology: "Man to woman" Transgender woman or trans woman. "Woman to man" Transgender man or trans man. This is true even if the person has not get transitioned. So if someone who has not transitioned yet discloses to you that their gender is not what you thought it was, the gender that is best to apply is the one that they tell you, even if that's not the way you classify their appearance. I really hope that that was helpful instead of annoying. These are the arts if conversations that can help people get on the same page, without having to worry about "offending" anyone. Have a good day!

(I wasn't aware of it either and wouldn't care about things like that, but now it's been drawn to my attention... )

I'm more annoyed this is 104 minutes long instead of 120 minutes.

Don't b annoyed by running time. It feels like a properly paced story.
It's not like it's 5 mins long.

It's also the exact running time of a TV 4-parter. Don't see the issue.
