Ok... how about I delete the post? It's up to you, but being able to talk about these things is always a good opportunity. Better have someone help you out here than get into a bad situation in the real world.

There's stuff in there that was new to me, which I'm delighted to learn.

I felt the writer could have done more with the antagonistic relationship between the Doctor and Clarimond, or at least the relationship that was hinted at but ever explored.

I'm more annoyed this is 104 minutes long instead of 120 minutes. A very good writer once told me the good stories are just the right length.

I don't think the story was too short per se but I also don't think it would have hurt if it had had another 15 minutes to work with, say maybe a little more of Adric in the middle (Matthew Waterhouse WAS absolutely superb in this and really needs to do more of these) or perhaps a little more about this feud?
I probably need to listen to it again though, I was actually pretty tired by the time it was released and more so by the time I finished, and somehow I missed if what seemed like the occasional modernism had been justified within the story. It still managed to feel true enough to its era, though, and a very interesting adventure even weighed against the two very interesting adventures that precede it.

Overall, I think I liked this story the best out of this trilogy - it was very good. I wasn't really bothered with the length, either. I liked the plot twists this story threw at me and, once more, this TARDIS team shines in audio. I'll have to listen to it again to make sure I picked up on everything.

I'm not sure I picked up on everything but I thought Zaltys was superb from start to finish, and definitely a Fifth Doctor story very much of it's era. Adric once again shined in this, which is probably because this TARDIS dynamic has been so underused during the BF era of Big Finish Doctor Who audios it's just great to hear Adric part of this team again. It was all very enjoyable anyway. Overall Zaltys is a very strong story in a very strong set of Fifth Doctor Main Range adventures, all three of them have been top notch. I'm not sure I could say which one was the best, as they was all so good, but 2017 has started well for the Main Range that much is certain.

What i meant was if somethings advertised at 120 but it's 104 minutes that ain't right, the older Big Finish releases used to include the correct running times, nowadays the monthly range give the same run time of 120 minutes when a story like Mistfall was just over 90 minutes. I'm cool with the run time but not the incorrect information, what can i say I'm OCD lol.

It's always the number of discs times sixty. The older stories have this detail fixed to be more precise though.

Being perfectly honest, considering the file as a whole comes to 2:08:05 I don't think it's true to say that Big Finish is false advertising. It's just like a movie's runtime including the credits, you don't have to watch it but it's still part of the show.

So where do we think this trilogy is set - throughout the season or all in a block somewhere?
Since Tegan seems to be wanting to get to Heathrow it seems before Black Orchid. There is the issue of "why this pre-occupatation with the planet Earth" type line in Black Orchid. But they can always have another run of Earth-based adventures still to come before Black Orchid.

I've put them after Phycodrome and Cold Fusion and before Four to Doomsday there's still that slight adjustment vibe going on in places.

Those who enjoy Rebecca's performance should check out the (now-finished) BBC2 sitcom Boy Meets Girl which has a lovely cast of performances as well as Rebecca as the female lead, it stars such folk as Denise Welch and Janine Duvitski alongside Nigel Betts (Doctor Who/Class) and Lizzie Roper (lots of Big Finish).
It tells a lovely story where episode one (of twelve) runs along the lines of Boy Meets Girl... Boy Likes Girl... Girl Likes Boy... Girl Tells Boy She Used To Be Boy Too...

Yes but with Nyssa in another "This is what we were doing while we left Tegan at Heathrow" job.

Interesting - I didn't feel that, I thought they seemed more familiar to each other. And there's no sonic screwdriver at any point, is there?
