I'm sure you can fill us in on all the other times BF got a cover story when there's no new stories on air then? It's pretty rare. The last time it happened was only less than a year ago!

Do you even read the other posts? Twice - in SIXTEEN YEARS. I honestly think you just look to be contrary on forums and disregard such unimportant things as "facts" or "proof".

Looking at the DWM cover archive (which goes up to march 2015 for me) I only see one definite BF Cover (issue 465 the LaTE issue) and maybe another (472, McGann's new outfit on the cover) 486 had a cover with the Seventh Doctor for Damaged Goods.

Yep, 3 out of...what? About 210ish issues since Big Finish started making Who audios? I'd say it's a pretty big deal, and really cool that BF get that prestige and, crucially, exposure. Obviously the poster who disagrees with everybody on everything...disagrees.

I know it's not a cover, but there was a feature late 2011 about Big Finish. They're also mentioned in The Fact of Fiction when a story or character returns in an audio, and there was an interview with William Russell which included discount codes for an audio from each Doctor (and a Sarah Jane Smith). Early 2011 did a feature in the lead into the Eighth Doctor Lucie Miller and To the Death finale. A Janet Fielding interview from around the same time touched up her presence with Big Finish and was probably how the news about the Fifth Doctor Lost Stories wound up getting out.

There's no point in aguing about numbers, quite simply since The Sirens of Time in 1999 the answer is that there hasn't been enough Big Finish DWM covers! I think it's actually a scandal to be honest. So it is good to see another BF cover, and because it is so rare, it is a big deal.

It makes me do a little dance, if I'm being truly honest.

Nope. The Sixth Doctor: The Last Adventure had a cover last year. And I wonder what the point of that is? I'm not sure what you're trying to get at. It was a high-profile Big Finish release detailing the 6th Doctor's regeneration. With the series possibly not being on until late November at the earliest, I think we can expect a few Big Finish-related covers, some that are more general but relate to an interview in the magazine and maybe a LEGO one (depending if there's any more LEGO Doctor Who, which there most likely will be). Here's my prediction: January: Alex Kingston and Paul McGann February: John Hurt March: Something more general related to an interview in the magazine April: More general May: David Tennant and Catherine Tate June: LEGO (Possibly some more news by then on future sets) July: Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy August: More general September: More general October: Paul McGann November: Series 10 cover December: Series 10 cover

We get that you love Doctor Who, and Big Finish. but this is a big deal, period, not an inevitability as you are treating it.

Right guys, it looks like this part of the thread is going nowhere fast and is in danger of getting personal! Please leave it and move on unless you have something constructive to add to it .

At last someone agrees with me it's a big deal! And some people don't like for facts or historical perspective to get in the way of what they think. Anyway, is that the new issue with the Alex Kingston announcement?

News from the new issue then... The rather exciting news is that April-June will be a multi-Master and Doctor trilogy! Grazey has started a thread here: notthebigfinishforum.freeforums.net/thread/771/april-2016-june-releases?page=1&scrollTo=13929Also this month: River is getting a book, a short story collection, called The Legends Of River Song. Steve Lyons and Andy Lane are among the writers - perhaps notable is that Jenny T Colgan is also writing one. After a very mixed reception to her story in the River box - with the characterisation of River seeming off in the first story - it'll be interesting to see how she gets on this time. The cover teases a River and McGann's Doc article - it's really 95% River content. Alex is asked what she'd like from future sets and is quite clear - she wants more Doctors, specifically naming Matt and David.. The reviews of the past month or twos BF product are glowing. New Myth Makers DVDs from Andrew Smith and Philip Hinchcliffe are coming.

Also: the 'COMING SOON' part advertises an interview with John Hurt...so it looks like I'm right for once with my prediction that the next cover will be Big Finish-related!
