There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

There's now a Tease from BF on their Facebook Page Blake's 7 at Big Finish Forgive the tease, but we're delighted to be able to share this new pic from the studio, with Sophia Hannides, Michael Keating, Stephen Pacey and Tracy Wiles recording a new Blake's 7 story, for a set which will be announced later in the year. Meanwhile, check out all of our Blake's 7 ranges: www.bigfinish.com/hubs/v/blake-s-7Regards mark687

It could be interesting to do a series of stories where the reality of thr story is ambiguous, Vila hallucinating in the first episode and perhaps having persistent pains in later stories to suggest he's just lying in a gutter somewhere still hallucinating and slowly dying. B7 is meant to be bleak after all.

Well, Magic Bullet had their final story, The Logic of Empire -- has Servalan recognise that the Federation still requires a (carefully controlled) boogeyman to draw attention away from their more objectionable practices and brainwashes Avon to be the new Roj Blake.

Glynis Regards mark687 I wonder if she would play Jane again, but this time on audio....? Perhaps I am sad, but I still think that The Misadventures of Jane would work in sound only...my imagination would happily provide the images! PS sorry to the Blake 7 fans for digressing, so back to the thread - does anyone know why there are copyright issues with the last series, but not with the others?

I've always assumed it's because Soolin and the Scorpio were Chris Boucher's creations rather than Terry Nation's.

Such a shame, I'd love some season 4 stories. I've always thought that season was underrated anyway.

Which is odd, considering BF have had stories featuring Leela and the robots from Robots of Death. Presumably down to what was negotiated for each. Many characters and aliens are included by default in the Doctor Who license, no matter whose creation they appear to be. Others require separate licensing. By Blakes 7 series 4 Chris was running the show so would presumably be in a position to ensure he got ownership of his own creations.

Not if they were created in his position as script editor... But he was also the writer of the episode that introduced them, so in that role could well have secured the rights to them. Strange that he wouldn't want to monetise that with Big Finish though soon there may well be a different explanation.

That's a shame, because if there were no rights issues, with Glynis onboard they'd only need to write around Dayna - and the set up of Xenon Base/Scorpio means it possible to write stories where Dayna is always not where the action is happening. Series D had quite a few stories where a couple of the team went off to run a mission and the others stayed behind. Dayna stays on Xenon Base in story one, She's teleport control on a covert mission in episode two, She's running a mission with Tarrant in episode three while Avon and Vila fanny about Xenon Base, She's on planet while Tarrant and Soolin run the gauntlet of other starships in episode 4. She's off being diplomat in five and six.
BAM she's there but she's not. If the others do stories where they're off screen as well, it won't look too out of place.

There's a thread further down where we've been talking about such things. I'd mooted the Xenon / Scorpio benefits where it came to Dayna.
