The Shakespeare Code was a good story and Ten seemed to know the Carrionites (perhaps from this story?) but I don't think the Sisters knew him so it will be interested to see how this one plays out (and time placement).
Cheers

Well, Big Finish and Titan have both used the Weeping Angels, despite the Doctor saying he'd only met them once before in Time of Angels, which would be Blink. That said, it did come across as a throwaway comment!
I don't think continuity is a massive thing, unless it hinges on the actual story, like the Doctor needing to forget pre-Library interactions with River Song.

There's that lovely though overused "8 forgot tons of stuff" thing to help with that.

Yes, there is that! I'd have preferred one big mind wipe with the Eighth Doctor rather than one each time River bumps into a pre-Tennant incarnation.
I'd love a couple of Eighth Doctor sets in the future where River is the companion. A series of standalone stories, where the arc is the relationship between the two of them. The twist is the Eighth Doctor is indeed River's Doctor and they're both in love with each other - him more than her - but she tragically has to wipe his mind in order to preserve the timelines. I think that would be a different slant on their relationship.
Anyway, I digress. Classic Doctors, New Monsters!

I seem to be the only one who finds the Vasta Nerada distinctly underwhelming, but there it is. Witch makes this box set a dilemma for me, because the Carrionites are classic-vintage villains and they will be alien witch toast long before Old Sixie (and Simon Guerrier) runs out of words to fight them with. I wonder if the very kind people at Big Finish might allow the stories to be purchased as individual downloads, like they are going to do with the 4DA boxsets? I could try the magic word: pleeeease...

I'm not expecting the same to happen here and am intrigued to hear how this silent enemy will work on audio.

The best story in volume 1 was "Judoon in Chains", in part because it did something new with its monster. And with the Vashta Nerada having two slots in this set they'll hopefully come up with a new spin on them here.

Hoping the audio dramas in this set will re-capture that magic.

If nothing else I'm tempted to get this set just to hear Tom Baker say Vashta Nerada. Those words were surely made for him.

Sounds fun. Tom Baker saying Vashta Nerada just sounds so right.

If the Fourth Doctor is wearing the scarf there'll be plenty of shadows where a Vasta Narada could be hiding.

This sounds very exciting - I'm a little anxious to hear what kind of Black Country accents we'll be getting for The Carrionite Curse though!

I'd deal with the Vashta Nerada by facing them on Sea Base 4, and blasting them with the Ultra-Violet Light Generator.

That sounds great! Can't wait for the two Vashta Nerada stories in particular; Baker, McGann and Pearce, what a cast!

Any idea on when in the month this is coming out? Just realised I haven't actually pre-ordered it yet!
