They've justified Nyssa entering the Time War and encountering the Doctor again. Looking forward to this.

Did not see this coming, nice to see the new series popping up in another range.
So does this mean when Nyssa reunites with the fifth Doctor in Cobwebs she was aware of the Time War?

I hope they eventually start adding new series monsters to the main range. Maybe after one has been covered in Classic Doctors, it could even move over to MR releases?

I don't see the point in doing that myself (at least not with Doctors 5-7, McGann should he ever return to the MR is fair game i.m.o), a fair few BF customers are only fans of the Classic series, and the Monthly range is very much keeping the Classic series alive in spirit and story structure, I don't see it as two separate series but some fans do and including too many New Who elements in past stories could put some people off, the boxset format is a decent comprise as it keeps it separate from the monthly range and acts as a more affordable way (with familiar elements) for new listeners to get to grips with the audio format and Classic Doctors.

I love the title of this one. Very clever.

I would so pre-order this had I not already done so before the announcement... plus it's the best Short Trips artwork ever.

If I were Big Finish, I'd say 'Stuff 'em'. The new series is Doctor Who regardless. If they can accept Paul McGann, then they can accept Weeping Angels in a sixth Doctor story.

It'd be really tragic if the Time War Eighth Doctor found a journal or some record left by a former companion, wondering why the Doctor didn't save the day and being bitter about it. There's been at least one story with the Doctor mourning over a tape recording, and it'd suit the Time War setting very much in breaking the spirit of the Eighth Doctor enough for him to want to fight back.

And how is this going to work for Nyssa's timeline? Is it set before she rejoins the Doctor, Tegan and Turlough in Cobwebs or does she somehow get from where she was at the end of The Entropy Plague to this story?

Is it set before she rejoins the Doctor, Tegan and Turlough in Cobwebs or does she somehow get from where she was at the end of The Entropy Plague to this story? Synopsis seems to imply she's only recently stopped working at Terminus, so that would set it after she leaves in Terminus and before reuniting with the fifth Doctor in Cobwebs. If this is the case it means she travelled with the fifth Doctor knowing about the Time War which plus her knowledge about his future regeneration (courtesy of Circular Time) means Nyssa's a helluva good secret keeper.

That cover is awesome and I would LOVE to see this as a complete full cast audiodrama I'm surprised it isn't. Unless they have something similar planned for the Time War set...

I would have preferred Ace in this story, my problem with Nyssa is that she barely reacts emotionally to something (that "I've become a different person, Doctor - cold, lonely person" quote in Prisioners of Fate with her typical monotonous tone is like Cyber-Danny Pink, there is not much difference between that Nyssa and the young Nyssa). In the last trilogy of old Nyssa, she lost her husband and children but she sounds boring all the time and in Equilibrium she tells the Doctor not to worry about it when she should be full of fury.

A mate of mine has a "Nyssa is a massively manipulative femme fatale" theory. Thisvus just more evidence that p, yes she's up to no good.
