I've always wanted another story with the Eighth Doctor (or a post-McGann Doctor) and Susan. The way they left things after To The Death, you just know there has to be more to their story than that. I worried they'd never do this story because they have so many other ideas for their recording with with Paul McGann, so doing a Short Trip with Carol Ann Ford seems like a good way of working around it.
I don't usually pre-order Short Trips. They're the kind of thing I buy when I happen to be buying something else and I'm in the mood for them. But I'm sure I'll have this one pre-ordered by the time it has been released.

WHAT.
What an odd thing to throw into a Short Trip of all places. I cannot wait.

SynopsisDoctor Who: Short Trips Monthly is a series of new short stories read by an original cast member.Everyone Susan Campbell cared about has gone. Most of them died in the second Dalek invasion, and her grandfather never visits. She's living in what used to be Coal Hill School, helping Earth rebuild again. Then, one night, she's called away to help with an emergency. A piece of appropriated Dalek technology is malfunctioning, and everyone's afraid of what it might do... This is just the first in a sequence of predicaments facing Susan - and the connection between them will shape the rest of her life. Written By: Eddie Robson Directed By: Lisa Bowerman CASTCarole Ann Ford (Narrator)

New series Short Trip, new series Short Trip, new series Short Trip. Why's nobody talking about how 7.09 and 7.10 are effectively new series Short Trips?

Time War and it's the 8th Doctor's Night of the Doctor costume. I think this is a sign that Big Finish are testing the waters for War,9,10 and 11 Short Trips.

That cover! (reminds me of a Scherzo fan cover I've seen)
I've listened to a fair few of the Short trips (albeit largely those from the first four CD releases) but I haven't really paid much attention to the newer releases, but I'll certainly be getting this one, always wanted to hear a follow up to To The Death with Susan and 8, though I must admit I'm a little dissapointed this isn't going to be a full cast (or physical) release with McGann actually involved, always exciting to hear more Time War stories though.
As much as I've enjoyed the War Doctor audios, ever since I first listened to Mary's Story I've been rather more curious to hear the 8th Doctor's side of the conflict...
And I agree with dalekbuster I think they are testing the waters for New Who short trips, I'd love a few War Doctor short trips set in his younger years, and it would be a good way to do a few 9th Doctor stories with Rose.

I'm more intrigued by the Nyssa story, but looking forward to this one too.
I'm quite relieved that these are Short Trips, opposed to being handled in the upcoming Time War sets featuring the Eighth Doctor.

Yeah, Short Trips would probably be the best way for them to do 9th Doctor stories at the moment. If Billie Piper doesn't agree to join Big Finish, they've already got Camille Coduri and John Barrowman who would probably be happy to read them.

They could always use Nick Briggs, he does a decent enough impression of Eccleston in Night Of The Whisper. I'm still waiting to hear the story of the 9th Doctor's first haircut: i.imgur.com/0pNx6aG.jpgimgur.com/2lzaxwj

It wouldn't be right to use him as the ninth Doctor for a full cast audio drama though.

They already have Jacqueline Pearce as Ollistra who is the obvious candidate for future Time War Short Trips for both the Eighth and War Doctors.
Clare Higgins and Ken Bones would be logical additions too, as Ohila and the General respectively, but perhaps Big Finish would prefer to use them in full cast stories first. Assuming they'd be up for it, of course.

Thread Bump Due out this coming week according to this weeks Podcast Regards mark687 I wondered if they'd release it this week. Makes sense if these Short Trips are supposed to act as prequels to the Time War set.
