"What most people call a redneck, aint nothin but a workin man, makin his livin by the sweat on his brow, and the calluses on his hands." Charlie Daniels-What this world needs is a few more rednecks. icecreamdf you ever had a callus on your hands from workin? No. Do wrist cramps count? You've never hammered or sawed or used an ax or chainsaw or anything enough to get a callus on your hand?

You've never hammered or sawed or used an ax or chainsaw or anything enough to get a callus on your hand? I do different kinds of work. And honestly, who really cares what kind of work a person does? One doesn't need to swing a hammer or use a chainsaw to work or feel the pressure of getting a job done. Our job doesn't define us. Who we are, how we love and how we treat others is what defines us. Everything is just window dressing.

But have calluses from all those above plus farmin, ok, mostly from farmin, holdin a plow while guidin a horse is not fun, and not for everybody, especially me. But what it's sayin is that folks who work outdoors a lot usually get a redneck, sunburned day after day. I'm 99.percent sure. That you know as much about bein a redneck as I know bout bein Jewish, but if you ever build a swingset, or roof a house, or rebuild a motor, or do anything that is considered manual labor, you'll learn a lot bout what I'm say in. This generation, for the most part, has lost respect for the ditch diggers, and garbage men, and custodians who clean up after them. Just one of the reasons I voted for Trump.

I do different kinds of work. And honestly, who really cares what kind of work a person does? The person doin it, the people affected by it. I'm sure folks in the north love drivin on ice free roads in the winter, but most don't bother to thank the snow plow driver, they just get behind the plow and wish it would go on. The folks eatin might care bout the food, how much time do they give thinkin bout the folks who grew it, or packaged it, or how it got to the store? Just cause you lost sight of workin folks, don't lump me in with a 'who cares' statement. I thank a police man every chance I get, even if one pulls me over, I make sure to thank him(never been pulled over by a female), for puttin his life on the line for me. For some of us, or work does help to define us. We take pride in it, we do better than average, day after day. Folks on here, and in a great part of America, have forgotten that. That's why we have President Trump, and until yall figure that out, and realize, "there's a whole lot more of us common folks than there ever will be of you"(Charlie Daniels), I like his chances of re-election.

I have just spent some time reviewing the recent content of this thread and removed a number of posts that were getting very close to becoming personal attacks. Allow to me to remind everyone one last time to keep comments civil. We are spending far too much time dealing with comments which people should know better than to make as they will result in this thread being locked and warnings issued to those who refuse to keep their posts within the rules which have been set out.

I can't speak for everyone, but I do thank anyone who provides me with a good or service. Also, you know that Trump is just a Billionaire who inherited money and became a reality TV star, right. He is barely a "working man."

I didn't see Clinton say anything bout any of this.

So far he is just trying to get rid of it, and says that he will come up with a replacement later. That will just leave people with no health insurance. Hillary's plan was to work to improve Obamacare. The goverment is here to help all of us, including those lazy people who are sick, or disabled, or working two jobs and still not earning a living wage. Nobody chooses to live off of welfare instead of getting a job.

Nobody chooses to live off of welfare instead of getting a job. I'll talk bout what I know as fact. It's a fact that government regulation is making it harder to drive a truck for a livin. The 8 hour, 11 hour and 14 hour rules are mostly stupid. You can only work 8 hours then you have to take a 30 minute break. You can only drive 11 hours a day then I have to take 10 hours off. And the one that is makin the roads dangerous. You can only work 14 hours till you have to take a 10 hour break. What that means is, a truck driver pulls working different hours every day. Being forced by the rules to drive tired, or risk missing his appointment. We can no longer pull over and take a nap, cause that 14 hour clock keeps ticking, and there's no way to stop it without a 10 hour break. A 2 hour nap can work wonders. But Obama changed that law.as a result he made the roads more dangerous. A sleepy driver with 40 tons on him, and 4 wheelers all around him, is an accident waitin to happen. And the government ain't just takin care of the sick and disabled. They lettin junkies in the system as well, I understand why you don't want to throw them off assistance, that's a huge part of the liberal base. There are millions choosing not to work, cause the government takes care of them and they don't have too. But that's gonna change. Drug testing before getting assistance is a good start.

There are millions choosing not to work, cause the government takes care of them and they don't have too. But that's gonna change. Drug testing before getting assistance is a good start. I can't pretend that I know all of the ins and outs of trucking regulations. I assume that the regulations are suppossed to prevent truckers from overworking and driving while they are exhausted. If the regulations don't do that, then that means that the regulations need to be changed rather than removed. if you just leave drug addicts in the street without benefits, they are not going to have a chance of getting better. I don't care who they vote for (I'm guessing that most don't vote) but I still want to help people even if there problem is self-inflicted. If you make drug testing a requirement, you are just going to have a lot of addicts who can't get jobs and become more depressed and do more drugs. Instead, the government should offer more rehab programs, while continuing to offer them the other benefits that they need to stay alive. Do you have any source for your claim that millions of people are choosing not to work because of welfare?
