I wish Turlough's other life wasn't a secret from the Doctor. It's really scuppered Big Finish's ability to deal with it. Also, 5 likes traveling with nobility doesn't he Nyssa, Turlough, Erimem. Just a thought. Couldn't 6 pop in to see Tulough?

One of my favorite releases this year so far. Really, really enjoyable.

Two episodes in and this has become the 5th Doctor series I didn't know I needed.

Well that was fun. The kind of story that is simply purely enjoyable, nothing more, nothing less.

I finished listening to this title yesterday, and I really liked it.
I never had anything against Tegan personally, and I liked what she and 5 got to do in this one.

Yeah, I forgot to mention Leela thrown in the mix. That was great too.
Really the only thing I might have wanted that wasn't in here would have been a little tiny aside or two that would lead into the existing Gallifrey series.

Time in OfficeA brilliant set of four linked short stories by Eddie Robson! I was looking forward to this release since the first announcement, it sounded different and so much fun - then the trailer made it sound to me like conventional 'Doctor Who' - then the synopses raised my hopes again - and the stories fully delivered. Don't bother with the trailer, just buy the release and enjoy! It's very funny, clever and gentle political satire - but in a general way, not a topical way so it won't date. And it's directed with pace and sparkle by Helen Goldwyn and performed with perfect comic timing by a great cast. It's a light-hearted release and a relief for once to have a story set on Gallifrey without a Time Lord megalomaniac in sight. But the people of Gallifrey are still as we'd imagine them - even with good intentions they scheme and plot a bit as if by habit, they just can't help it! And the Doctor is not above a little scheming of his own... forced to take up the Everything Of Rassilon and all the other trappings of power, we can trust this Lord President to do some good along the way. How wonderful to finally have Leela in the Main Range, adding another Doctor to her list and meeting Tegan - two companions with, some might say, a lot in common! The only mild criticism I'd make of this release is that Louise Jameson and Janet Fielding and their characters are so excellent together, it's a pity they didn't have more shared scenes. Leela's (quickly dismissed!) solution to Tegan's visa problems made me laugh out loud - do what she did and marry a local... how about - the Doctor? {Ending Spoiler} There's a briefly poignant moment at the very end; all the Doctor's friends miss him when he drifts away again and Leela is no different; done perfectly like all the rest of the stories. And the Doctor strikes a serious note as he looks ahead to what might bring him home the next time - as if saying - the fun is over, back to work.
I wish the ending hadn't been quite so definite because I would most happily have voted for this Lord President, Tegan and Leela to serve a second term in office. An absolute treat; five stars (Of Rassilon, naturally )

Just a fantastic story from first to last.
Very amusing with great guest characters and top notch performances from the whole cast. You expect Davison and Jameson to be great but I was particularly impressed with Janet Fielding who matched them every step of the way.
This was a great Tegan story and she really matched up well with Leela. Indeed the only negative I can really come up with is that it didn't end with Leela joining them for a few adventures in the Tardis - that's a team I'd happily listen to again.
I'm still laughing about the idea of the Doctor marrying Tegan!

Very disappointing - why was something so good over so soon?! I reckon we need to start campaigning for a 'More Time in Office' or 'Time in Office - the Missing Adventures' set in the gaps between episodes. At least one box set's worth.

I'd pay to hear the Doctor and Romana talk about being President. Actually, the David Warner Doctor from the Ruler of the Universe release finding himself on Gallifrey would be a brilliant concept. "No, I do not want to lead you lot. I once ruled a whole universe and it was a big fat lot of no fun."

Outstanding audio drama, one of Eddie Robsons best scripts a joy from start to finish.

Outstanding audio drama, one of Eddie Robsons best scripts a joy from start to finish. Eddie Robson is one of those writers who is good at finding an angle and milking it for all its worth while not overdoing it. Human Resources was brilliant about its commentary on office life.

The episode was an absolute delight. I would not mind seeing more events in The Doctor's term as President.
Loads of fun.

By the way, did folk who are receiving the main range on CD in the US receive this before or after the Silurian Candidate? I don't believe I have seen that arrive yet.

They should be receiving it Before as Silurian Candidate CD's didn't arrive at the BF Warehouse till the week after Time in Office ones were sent out.

Everyone says this is over too quickly and I agree - this is a big creative risky story and I love it. Makes me wish it was a trilogy.
Also the funniest main range story I'd heard in a while, easily worth a relisten. Ambassador Jovanka was delightful.
