I've created a dedicated thread as often people don't read threads about releases they've not heard yet.

So, can someone who knows the answer to this give me some timeline guidance? I placed Cobwebs right after Dreaming of the Water, but it's been suggested that this story may actually take place immediately preceding Return to Collinwood. That's about a 30 year possibility. I'd love to defer to Aaron Lamont if he happens to see this! Let the author of the piece set us straight. But, anyone with a connection to Big Finish could be a lamb and ask someone who knows. I'd be most appreciative, and will update my chronology accordingly!

It's Sebastian immediately before Return to Collinwood.

{Spoiler} Everything before the ‘big moment’ is Sebastian having premonitions of what’s going to happen with the real world occasionally breaking in. The spider crawling up his chest is ACTUALLY happening right then, but he’s seeing it from his skewed, delirious POV. So that’s around 1974. Everything AFTER the ‘big moment’ takes place over the intervening decades.Or is it? Because everything could just as easily be Sebastian’s skewed memories and dreams of what happened to him, making it 2003. Or everything could just be one big premonition, and at the end we leave Sebastian rocking quietly in his cell in 1974, a second away from being carted off to an ECT session which will go horribly wrong.Or it could be all of those things. And of course I have no idea what was in Chris’s head when he was recording it. Or what was in Joe’s when he was editing the script, or Davy’s when he was editing the sound. In the end I just gave up and went to the pub…
I shall now return to quietly going mad in my corner.

Ok, so I’m very glad to see that—that it could take place in any of those years (as skewed premonition OR skewed memory—OR ALL of those 30 years). When I first listened, the frenetic pace, Chris’ bonkers reading (which was spot on!), along with the supernatural element which is intrinsic to the DS world anyway, led me to believe that we at least started our setting shortly after DotW. Where it goes from there is somewhat open to interpretation, or at least that’s how you approached it. As you said, Joe, Davy, Christopher—anyone involved on the production side—added their own spin, intentionally or not. Thank you for your insights! Much appreciated. I need to give my timeline entry some thought, taking all of the above into consideration. I somehow want it to reflect those vague, hazy timing possibilities without my own spin, as much is possible. Glad to know that at least, the spider moment is from where I placed the story.

{Spoiler} I think I’ll move my entry from 1972 to 1974 and then revise it to say something like “He begins having premonitions and nightmares involving a strange spider and ‘the Burned Man’ that will trouble him for decades, and may haunt his memories when the beautiful ‘Mistress’ beckons in 2003.”

I don't know Return to Collinwood and I've only just seen Sebastian Shaw on TV recently. I think it was Joe who said to me '...and it leads directly into RtC' but I can't remember if that was in a podcast or 'real life'.

I listened to this set of stories this evening. I rather lack the background for some of them, as I've only listened to a little Dark Shadows and what little I've listened to has not been in any kind of order.
The Reflected Man was sweet, even though I didn't know the background that led up to the story. There was enough in the story to understand it even without the background.
Old Acquaintance I found to be a very weird story. Still not sure what I think about it. I think I don't know enough about Quentin Collins to really get it.
I really enjoyed Devil's Rock. It was an interesting set up and resolution and really caught my interest.
Cobwebs was suitably creepy. It's another one for which I don't really know the background, but the story itself was understandable.
