I still find it strange that Big Finish have so far only put series 11 up for pre-order... They have a habit of waiting until things are actually recorded before putting them in the pipeline, I've noticed

I really liked that set - a good "anniversary" style story for the finale. As for the spoilery bits from Episode 4: When Quick's man said the man was demanding to speak to authority and called him a "grotesque" I was excited and expectant that Strax was about to have his intro.
Didn't even recognize Beev's voice until he said That One Line. Amazing. What was the line, if you don't mind me asking? {Spoiler} I don't usually miss out on anything with Geoff in, but I've never listened to this series before.

A masterful cliffhanger. I wonder if it'll lead into Jago and Litefoot and Strax or volume 11? I was amazed and surprised at that one. Wonderful. Delightful. Extraordinary!

J&L box set cliffhangers are, on the whole "and the adventures continue...." Rather than genuine cliffhangers. Even the "WERE IN THE 1960s OHH CORKS!" happened in a Doctor Who, not a J&L.

Another good set of J&L here.
Now, I was maybe a little put off by having Toby Hadoke playing the annoying Carruthers, as I've become way too accustomed to hearing his interview podcast. Not that he didn't play the role well, he did! It was just that I've become so accustomed to his voice on a weekly basis as a very "friendly interviewer" that it felt a little wrong for him to be playing such an annoying little git like that!
And yeah, what a splendid cliffhanger!

I have just started this after a week of doing my real job, which is starting to get in the way of my BF listening habits. Must admit I am enjoying the first episode, Jago and Litefoot are like a pair of your favourite slippers, or that big mug of hot chocolate you enjoy. Always satisfying and always bringing great warm feeling inside. Looking forward to the rest of the boxed set. My only fear is how long this will continue, Looking forward to the Strax special release next month. I am wondering as to whether they will pull this forward for Halloween

Hmm, I must say I don't recall series 2 very well, but the TARIDS wiki calls Crow "Sibelius Crow": tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Sibelius_CrowWhile I'm pretty sure he's called "Sebastian Crow" in series 10. Is this a continuity error or simply someone at the wiki misheard the name in "The Necropolis Express"?

Yup, just relistened to "The Necropolis Express" and looks like either the writers or Jago and Litefoot themselves misremembered the name.

Series 10 was another great series.
The only negative for me was The Year of the Bat. It wasn't an issue with the story itself, but with how it was told. If this was a TV episode I know that they would have had to recast the two leads, but as this was on audio I really wish they hadn't.
Blake Ritson has a very recognisable voice and did not fit my image of a young Litefoot and to my ear it was a mistake to have Alex Lowe appear in the previous story as I kept picturing a young Jasper Cornish instead of Jago.
On a much more positive note I was really impressed with how the last two stories were written because I kept changing my mind about who would turn out to be the main villain. Right up until the final reveal I was still weighing the three potential candidates. Plus I was expecting Adella LaStrange to appear at some point. As she did not I hope they up have plans for her in the future.

I agree that the younger versions of J and L did not seem "correct sounding" either. They did try though, I'll give them that. But, I don't know if Benjamin and Baxter would have been able to pull it off either, so I decided to not let it bother me too much.

My box set has just arrived and I'm glad to see the packaging and booklets remain at a high standard. With series 9 I rationed myself to 1 story each month, but with Jago, Litefoot & Strax just around the corner I plan to binge listen to all of series 10 this coming week. I still find it strange that Big Finish have so far only put series 11 up for pre-order... It is a wise move on the side of BF as they know it a good sellers and with so many NEW ranges out next few months i got unit and most the new stuff on pre order but as soon as a new J&L up for pre order money goes on that now waiting for pre order 12

I finished up series 10 this morning and had a great time with it. I think I preferred series 9 just a little more but that isn't really a reflection of this series as I thought taking the boys and putting them out at sea gave that series a little extra zip. Morris & Bernard have turned into my favorite writers for the range but James Goss is not far behind. I think the conception of Johnny Morris' story was stronger than the execution, and that was the only real weak link for me in the set. And what a great cliffhanger of a ending. It didn't come as a complete surprise because of what the zombies were chanting in episode 3 but still, how great, and chilling, to hear the silky tones of that particular performer. And so Jago & Litefoot continues to roll on.

And so Jago & Litefoot continues to roll on. Wow - good spot! I never thought about and connected the zombie chant to the ending. I've only just listened to 'The Mourning After' and came on here at the moment of the zombies' chant! A spooky foretelling of events to come ... brilliant! I think, with this boxset especially, that the weight of the cliffhanger has detreacted just a little from the individual stories themselves. Certainly, 'The Mourning After' is my favourite of the set so far - a skillful mixture of comedy and jeopardy, and some nice touching scenes reflecting on Jago and Litefoot facing the prospect of 'going solo'. Also, Litefoot and Betterman made a great double-act. Great fun. Just to add, Toby Hadoke's voice for Carruthers is cracking me up! Edited one last time to add: just finished listening to 'The Museum of Curiosities'. What a cracking finale. No, I didn't see the twist, but it was very satisfying indeed. Funny and frightening. As the Fifth Doctor might have said, "Oh no ... FAN!" Wonderful story, wonderful box set (although the last two stories were more enjoyable than the first two), and ... {Spoiler} ... if you have a red herring, the David Warner is perfect for it, as he is in all his other roles for Big Finish! The reveal at the end ends the cheerful proceedings on a genuinely sinister note. Mr Beevers has never sounded more menacing, and the policeman's description of him to Det Insp Quick (and the Inspector's revulsion towards the character) inspires some some lovely visuals for the mind. As many have said, roll on Series 11! I've had a tremendous weekend, at last finding time to catch up on a few BF audios, and enjoying them all. From the bleak oppressive nature of Survivors, through the sixties skullduggery of The Avengers, to this ... the only problem being, I finally catch up with these things at a time when everyone else has already heard them and moved onto other things. Oh well!

I enjoyed Toby Hadoke as Carruthers, but I was never a regular listener to his podcast. I tried, a couple of times, but the background noise made it too hard to listen to on my commute to work.
