I love the Agatha Christie BBC period dramas. What Big Finish need to do as a series is - Young Miss Marple - set in the correct period and location. I remember reading that a film or TV program called that was planned and briefly I got excited, but then I saw that they were going to set it in the modern day and in America. Umm.... Young Miss Marple? That's not a thing*. All the Miss Marple stories are set when she was old. The proposed tv series you refer to was just taking a title and putting something new to it. * Unless you mean doing something brand new and original, creating a prequel not based on the original stories, like they've done Young Bond, Young Morse, Young Frost (in books only so far), Young Sherlock Holmes (many times), Young Star Trek and Young Prime Suspect?

Yes I know that there is currently no such thing as Young Miss Marple. There are plenty of book series of existing period sleuths that they could look at doing. Going back to when the Charley Pollard series was first mooted I said that there is a 1930's era gap in the Big Finish Doctor Who spin off line up, so perhaps they can introduce their own sleuth for an adventure with the Doctor in the monthly range and then spin them off into a period drama!

Alternate history along the lines of Harry Turtledove would be awesome.
