Just pre-ordered the rather stunning Series 10 steelbook. The Series 9 one sold out before release so don't take too long with this one! It certainly is stunning, but £64.99 at Amazon *whistles* Cheers Tony

I'm really tempted to get the two Amicus films just for the steelbooks. Defiant Cushing and domineering Daleks all.

Of course I've just converted my dvds to blu ray (standard versions) so I should just get the standard edition of series 10 too. But it's my favourite of the Capaldi era, Bill is superb, even Nardole, and those pics from Alice Zhang are amazing ... so ... Cheers Tony

The Shada steelbook is now showing as unavailable on UK Amazon, might be sold out already... Zoom.co.uk have it on pre-order at £27.99 here. If you use the discount voucher SIGNUP10 you get 10% off as well, making it £25.19 before postage (3-5 days free delivery is available). It's a bargain at that price (only problem is I think they take payment immediately). Cheers Tony EDIT: Zoom take payment on dispatch (unless paying by paypal) From the FAQ.

I was going it get it for the Extra Disc which I thought was a mercenary tactic in the 1st place

The Shada steelbook is now showing as unavailable on UK Amazon, might be sold out already... It's £29.99 at Zavvi including standard delivery, available for pre-order and they take payment only on dispatch. And it is a thing of beauty.

Thanks for the heads up about the Shada Steelbook. I hadn't ordered it yet as I've been away from home for a few days. I didn't realise it would sell so quickly. Just ordered it now with Zoom, can't go wrong at £25.
I've also pre-ordered the Series 10 Steelbook, too beautiful to resist!!

Like I said on the other thread, it's not going to be 65 quid. Amazon prices always come down after the first listing at full RRP.
Anyway....like I said to Mark above, Zavvi FB'ed that this was limited to 5,000. But then on Twitter they said 500 (which can't be true as it's got to be enough for Zoom, Zavvi and Amazon) but them Tweeting the wrong amount might have caused a bit of a run on pre-orders for people thinking that it's 90% more limited than it actually is.

I noted on the day of release it dropped to £11. Not having pre-ordered it I remained curious as to what point Amazon's pre-order price guarantee (that customers who pre-order at price X will be charged the lower price if the price drops before release) ends. Is a drop in price on the day of release the lower price that pre-orderers pay, or do they take payments, declare the item as released then five minutes later drop the price? Have still pre-ordered Season 10 though. Did Season 9 start this high? I pre-ordered it at £40 which was the price I ended paying for it.

Have still pre-ordered Season 10 though. Did Season 9 start this high? I pre-ordered it at £40 which was the price I ended paying for it. I've pre-ordered hundreds of DVDs, books and blurays from Amazon and what they tend to do is charge 2 or 3 days before release date then if the price drops any further in that 2 or 3 days refund the difference. You get an email saying "Your saving is _____" when it applies. A few times the price has changed on release date and I've had to request a refund but they never quibble. Either way, that tends to be a pound or two - this'll drop to 40-ish very soon, I should think. Most blurays come on at 20 quid when first listed then drop to 13 or 15 closer to release. The Series 9 steelbook was limited to 2,000 and sold out before release date.

Also ordered the Series 2 and Shada steelbooks yesterday, from Zoom, whom I'd never heard of or used before. I've a wedding to pay for next year. I've picked the worst time to develop a steelbook habit!
