Bit naughty of the BBC to release series 10 without the Christmas Special Twice Upon A Time, couldn't they have held back until January & included 'Twice Upon A Time' which would've concluded the Twelfth Doctor era on DVD/Blu ray.
£50 & £65 takes the p..s £35 & £40 would be a far more reasonable price although i suspect the price will come down on Amazon before release.

You know....I loved Series 10 so much I think I'd still be happy paying the 65 quid Me too. Also ordered the Series 2 and Shada steelbooks yesterday, from Zoom, whom I'd never heard of or used before. I've a wedding to pay for next year. I've picked the worst time to develop a steelbook habit! I've used Zoom a couple of times, good company (and seem to be quicker at shipping than Zavvi in my experience). Cheers Tony

Have still pre-ordered Season 10 though. You know....I loved Series 10 so much I think I'd still be happy paying the 65 quid Agree! (Don't tell Amazon though ) And great artwork. I'm sure the price will fall pre-release as you say, and Amazon's pre-order price guarantee is very reliable. Many times the price has fallen before my card was charged (with the lowest pre-release price), maybe once or twice I've had a last-minute part refund when the price has dropped very late in the day. Series 10 is my favourite New Series by a long way, just about perfect for the Doctor, companions and stories. It's mildly irritatiing we'll have to buy 'Twice Upon a Time' separately but if it's the farewell story they're building it up to be, I won't mind!

And have nothing in the shops for Christmas for all the New Who crowd? A nice notion for completion's' sake but commercially was never going to happen. They didn't delay Matt's set till 2014 to gather up his orphaned specials, it was never going to happen here either realistically. And they will be £35 and £40 - surely you've made enough Amazon orders to know they always list high and drop!

Like I said on the other thread, it's not going to be 65 quid. Amazon prices always come down after the first listing at full RRP. They shouldn't originally show the RRP. I'm sure there are many including myself who will refuse to preorder until they make it at least £39.99. I'm sure there are many including myself who know you can lock in your order and cancel before dispatch at any point without being charged. Don't really see the issue.

It's not misleading in the slightest. People may be expecting the price to drop, due mainly to staying competitive with other retailers, and it likely will in order to do exactly that, but it's neither guaranteed nor owed. And has been pointed out you can cancel at any time prior to shipment with no penalty if you don't like the price or find it cheaper elsewhere. So I don't see anything misleading or dishonest in play here at all. After all, no one is being forced to order at this price, at this time, at this particular retailer, or indeed at all for that matter. Don't like the way one business does things, simple solution, take your money elsewhere.

I'd love to think that this does well enough for us to get more. Power clearly did well enough for Shada to become a reality but that had the BBC Store and US broadcast behind it as well as some cinema screenings - Shada's not got as many ways to generate the revenue but the prospect of something like Evil Of The Daleks being given this treatment is mouthwatering. Something like The Crusade with only 2 missing eps would be lovely too but that's nowhere near as commerciallyattractive as a Dalek story or a "lost" Douglas Adams one. I've pre-ordered the steel for this and Series 10 but I think I may save Shada for Christmas week and do an ep a night.

Surely that must be the next in the list of commercially attractive (and excellent story) releases? And I would very much like to see 'The Crusade' completed but it's true, 'historicals' don't command the same following, even ones of that quality and with such a famous cast. Also I think that (misplaced) concerns about 'causing offence' will prevent that title ever being restored. I've also got both steelbooks pre-ordered. Christmas scheduling will be tricky for me this year if BF release the First Doctor Adventures right after 'Twice Upon a Time' and 'The War Master' coming around then too...

Our faith (in Amazon's pre-order price guarantee) has its reward.

Not good enough Amazon. Needs to be £39.99. Buy the normal Blu-Ray edition and it is. £8 extra for the limited edition steelbook? I think that's just about worth it.

I don't think it is unreasonable to expect the S10 Steelbook to be the same price. And it now sells for 2x, 3x, 4x that or more, if you can find a copy. So the extra £8 for S10 seems very reasonable indeed. Anyway, S10 was twice as good as S9...! (Me being controversial, but that's how I felt about the seasons overall. )

The s10 steelbook did briefly dip as low as 39.99, because that's currently the lowest price that's been locked in on my order. Likewise, the Shada steelbook dipped as low as 24.99, because again, that's what my order is currently locked in as (despite being 29.99 currently on the site). And that is exactly why you pre-order early, because the lowest price guarantee means you never miss a price reduction, no matter how briefly it is on site.

I've got the same on my pre-order That tells me it'll probably be 39.99 at release for all anyway - just like we were saying it would last week but, as usual, the moaners on Amazon reviews have already put in one-star reviews for the "rip off" prices.....
