Do you think Big Finish will ever get the license for Agents of SHIELD audios?
Personally, I think Agents of SHIELD audios would be a lot of fun - and the cast would certainly be affordable. Clark Gregg does a lot of voiceover work too, so he'd probably agree to voice Coulson on audio.

I doubt it. I can't really see Marvel and Disney licensing out their properties to Big Finish.

I've more chance of Jenifer Lawrence, Alicia Vikander and Khole Kardashian offering me an apartment sharing arrangement

It does seem unlikely, but Agents of SHIELD isn't one of their big-hitters like Iron Man or Captain America.

Given that Stargate struggled, probably not.

It does seem unlikely, but Agents of SHIELD isn't one of their big-hitters like Iron Man or Captain America. Another company already has the rights to produce audios of some Marvel properties, so it is indeed very unlikely that Big Finish would get a licence to do Marvel audios at the same time, even if they are deemed to be 'smaller' properties.

Interesting. I hadn't seen the Marvel audios site before. Wonder if they're any good?

Nope. And I'd hope even if it WAS available they stay away from it. Apart from Sif showing up it's terrible.

I hadn't seen the Marvel audios site before. Wonder if they're any good? There is a thread somewhere on this site re some of the Marvel/DC Graphic Audio titles... But Graphic Audio do make trailers for their products like Big Finish do, so they are easy enough to check out.

No time to listen right now, but maybe I will when I have a chance.

But the BBC, even if it had the budget, wouldn't do that kind of show for UNIT. And if you listen to the BF UNIT material, both classic and modern, they're nothing like AOS either.

I like AOS, there's consistency issues but that's almost always the case with these ridiculously long American network seasons. If they were 13 eps they'd be much tighter and much more concise. As it stands Season 4 is the best since the first - Ghost Rider worked better than it could have, the LMD stuff is great and John Hannah gives the show a lift. That said....it's not something I'd imagine would be on BF's radar. A Disney licence seems quite out their wheelhouse. Wishful thinking at best. Surely that would neccessitate getting the rights to the MCU and let's be honest - that's not going to happen and I don't imagine there's much of an audience demand for the idea either.
The Graphic Audio releases are fun at times but they're comic adaptations, not MCU extensions. They tend to do versions of popular comic runs and arcs and they don't use stars at all. It tends to be casts of unknowns - even for Batman, Superman, Daredevil and all the big names they have the rights to. So even if they got the rights to the current SHIELD comics (which are influenced by, but very different to, the show) I doubt the actors from TV would be used. From a technical standpoint they're nowhere near as good as BF, either. They often flow quite poorly as they almost all rely on narration even when full-cast, they have some woeful acting on almost all their releases and the score and sound design isn't on BF's level. So...cool for people like us who love comics and audio...but not much else.

I've always thought we have the best drama format in the UK, with usually between six and twelve episodes per drama series. 22 episodes can work, but often with U.S. dramas it can result in the plot being dragged out too thin over the series. I don't think this is the case with Agents of SHIELD though.

I've never been able to get past 3 or 4 episodes in a row. Have not been able to work up the energy to watch any of this season's shows. And I am their target audience.

I don't think this is the case with Agents of SHIELD though. I think it absolutely is the case with AOS - and all the DC shows too. They ran the Inhumans arc into the ground with the need to fill the 22-24 ep order - so much so Marvel cancelled the Inhumans movie as the brand was tarnished (since revamped and back in development with no SHIELD ties). Just as they ran Grant Ward's continual comebacks into the ground. The best season of AOS is the mini-season of about 8 eps after SHIELD fell in Winter Soldier, so the last batch of eps from Season 1 essentially. Tight, thrilling and lean action. That's what the show could be with shorter, Netflix-length orders but hey, US Networks exist to sell advertising. Not make good TV. I rarely criticise the US showrunners - the need to create so much content is huge. Then to get absolutely zero concessions from fans that it's an impossible workload to keep the quality as high as they'd like must make it unbearable at times. "Make it more like Daredevil!" a lot of fans will say on forums when it comes to the Network comic book shows....I'd like to see Drew Goddard and co keep DD as good if they had to do 24 eps a year rather than 13 every 18 months. I blame the format, not the creators.
