What? You mean Steven Moffat didn't end Sherlock so that the BBC could make some more Doctor Who spin-offs? I thought he was a Whovian? Never seen him call himself that. A fan, yes, but never that. Please not the is Whovian a dirty word debate I beseech you all

There's no problem if we all call ourselves fans. A real word, which no one is offended by.

Sorry, but I object to the term because it doesn't apply to me. Whoovers would be funnier as it's based on a real word!

What's the term of a fan of 'Class', then?

What's the term of a fan of 'Class', then? As far as I'm aware the cast approved and adopted their new fans as 'Classmates' I'm not a fan of labels like Whovian either, (the term came from America I think and began around the 20th Anniversary) I don't mind other people calling themselves as such, but it's not for me as I was a fan before the label took hold and that's how I prefer it to stay, a fan of Doctor Who.

Its just a silly fan name. Why does it make a difference what we're called? Because Whovians are residents of Whoville, and Dr. Seuss is technically a different Doctor franchise? ;-) Fan is okay by me, particularly if anyone happens to not like being called a Whovian.

Everybody knows that the residents of Whoville are called Whos. Fan is okay by me. Whovian is okay by me. Doctor Who geek is okay be me. People can call me whatever they want.

The term Classmates is the one the show's producer Derek Ritchie used when I interviewed him.

Of the two episodes of Class that I watched online, I thought it was dreadful. But then again I am 51,so it obviously wasn't a TV programme aimed at me. Whether Big Finish should/could/would do Class audios is a matter for them and the BBC. However, I don't think they would appeal to me. 51?! I've been convinced (on the basis of no evidence at all!) that you were years younger than me, rather than older. Oh well.

Well in all fairness my avatar does make me look a bit youthful, so it is understandable...

I don't think Big Finish will pick up the licencise to Class in the near future. If the series doesn't come back (and I loved it), it's more then likely the actors involved will move onto other things.

You'd hope so - even if the show didn't conect with the public, I thought some of them were terrific. Fady Elsayed in particular was so much more interesting than the part could have been in lesser hands.

Based on what I have seen of the series, I would not buy any audios just as I have passed on the books. Honestly I found the fist episode painful and barely got through it. None of the Canadian Doctor Who fans I know who have seen Class have anything good to say about it either. It would be interesting to see what the viewing figures were on Space for the show.
