I keep hearing the title to the tune of "The Mother and Child Reunion"

So, why does this have to be a "revival" I mean, I started to listen to J&L two years ago when I bought all the releases as of that date, and have bought every new release since then as they came out. It's not like they went for a decade's hiatus or anything.

I can't remember where I read/heard it, but it sounds like the story is set later in J&L's lives, at a point where they haven't had many adventures for a while and then they run into Ten and suddenly a new adventure - hence revival. I just checked the news article to confirm it but it doesn't mention it there, so maybe it was mentioned in the latest podcast?

So at this point, J&L have run into 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, & The Valeyard. They're getting to be quite the regular installment in The Doctor's lives. Good stuff, good stuff.

Tonight, in his usual matchless and majestic manner, he will continue and conclude our captivating chronicle of fortune, change and revivification". Perhaps something is being revived and it's not necessarily Mssrs. Jago and Litefoot?

Remind me where they meet 7 and 8. In All-Consuming Fire, Seven says he's staying with Litefoot offscreen, though George never actually makes an appearance, and Eight teams up with them in The Bodysnatchers.

I see thanks for clarification.... but unless it's BF and they make a proper appearance don't count in my personal canon. but a proper meeting with 8....I am up for that.

As far as personal canon goes they've met only 7 so far. Cheers for the info though.

Well 7 saying he's staying with Litefoot made it in to the BF adaption, and the events of The Bodysnatchers were referenced in BF's splendid Eighth Doctor Adventures, so take that how you will

I don't know if this is relevant to the story, but there are a number of definitions of the word "revival". 1) An instance of something become popular, active or important again, 2) And improvement in the condition or strength of something, 3) A new production of an old play or similar work, 4) a reawakening of religious fervor, especially by means of a series of evangelistic meetings.
Thinking about the use of the term in some of the other, more esoteric meanings, and the entire story has a whole lot more possibilities.

Just enjoyed that over a coffee in the spring sunshine. What a glorious listen and a celebration of those two finest of Victorian gents. When the ace Murray Gold series 4 theme thundered in with Trevor Baxter's wonderful voice intoning the title I had a big smile on my face that didn't leave for the next 30 mins :-) Roll on early April for Act Two!

I see a lot of people enjoyed this Short Trip today, but honestly I was a little disappointed. It didn't seem like a great deal happened until towards the end. The cliffhanger was great and I'm sure Act 2 will be better now that the alien threat has been introduced. I just wish Act 1 had more of a new series pace.

I really enjoyed this, the 30 minutes flew by. I had a huge grin on my face when Litefoot met Ten and realised who it was. Can't wait for Part 2!
