Now I feel like I have to buy this if only to see the alternative cover It's excellent, but the audio is even better. Bravo! - and well done, Christopher and Trevor!!

It's downloaded & loaded onto my dictaphone, ready for my walk to/from work (I'm planning on re-listening to part 1 on the way there). I can't wait! (Fingers crossed act 2 improves my opinion of act 1!)

Well that was absolutely splendid! Didn't think it was possible to adore Jago and Litefoot any more. The image of {Spoiler} Jago and Litefoot going for a ginger beer with the Eleventh Doctor in the Red Tavern almost brought a tear to me optics :-)

Fantastic! All I know if I'd love to see Matt Smith pass by The Moat for a guest shot in Jago & Litefoot.

what the heck is going on over there at big finish releasing short trips willy nilly instead of the end of the month Willy nilly is fine by me... in fact if they did two ST stories a month we could have one early in the month and one near the end of the month. Even better!

what the heck is going on over there at big finish releasing short trips willy nilly instead of the end of the month Either A) They have several high-profile releases to come this month including J&L 13 and want to spread them out or B) They are being considerate for J&L fans by not keeping us waiting too long with excessive excitement levels resulting from Act 1 or C) Both!

Well that was just splendid! And of course act two is (roughly) a week after act one. I see that Ten has joined One, Three, Five, and Six in the esteemed halls of those Doctors for whom Big Finish have provided final adventures This felt like a proper Jago & Litefoot Companion Chronicle, really, welcome to sit aside The Mahogany Murders on the shelf. I highly approve. It's a shame that the licensing was apparently tricky to work out for this, as revealed in a somewhat recent podcast; I'd love to hear more New Series Short Trips. Maybe they can work something out with BBC Audio... edit: I've half a mind to load up audacity and see if I can't make an edit such that Litefoot's story is one complete episode and Jago's another, and see how that works out.

so that's the Series 6 theme tune in Act Two, yeh? Lightning crackles and all?
edit: wait, is it the Series 5 tune? I can't tell. Subtle differences...

What was the issue, haven't listened to the podcast in a while. Also, wish the theme tune had stayed the same, it gave away the twist.

They mentioned that it was a bit of a hassle to hash out using the New Series Doctors in the short trips range, I assume because it's a bit of a grey area concerning BBC Audio's exclusive license to do audio readings of the New Series Doctors. They pretty much said that we probably won't be seeing this happen again anytime soon. I'm not sure which episode of the cast it was, perhaps someone else can track it down and get some more concrete details.

I loved this. I also thought the first half was a little slow on first listen, but then I listened it again with the second part right after, and it all flowed so well together and moved along quite well. It's amazing how the pacing seems to change when I expect to hear a story that takes over an hour as opposed to expecting a story of around 45 min. Does that make sense? Or am I just crazy?

With the release of part two last week I did enjoy it a whole lot more for being able to enjoy the whole story on the way to/from work.

Yeah, The Jago & Litefoot Revival definitely works better as a complete story. The first part on it's own was kind of dull, but the two parts together made a really good story.

Just finished listening. It was certainly better than Act 2 but I'm not as impressed with it as everyone else. If I were to rate both parts, I'd give Act 1 a 3/5 and Act 2 3.5/5.
It certainly had a fast pace, but it felt like most of the 35 minutes was just running away from a monster and nothing much else going on. There is a lot of running in the new series but there is also a greater sense of peril, with bit characters becoming involved in some fashion. I liked the placement in the Tenth Doctor's timeline though - very interesting that it takes place during his farewell tour in The End of Time.
