I've listened to the first two as well, but I couldn't disagree more. Zaross was a delightful bit of fun, echoing lots of different ideas and images from the Tennant years, yet somehow managing to feel so fresh.
I liked Sword even more. Billie was clearly having a blast, and the way Guy Adams cleverly mirrors the Chevalier, the Doctor, and the multi-faced alien really resonated with me.
The Ice Warriors aren't really my thing, but here's hoping Matt Fitton's done a new spin on them.

Heard the first 2 stories and unfortunately i found them massively average and lacking any real drama and tension. Certainly not up to vol.1 and Billie Piper isn't a patch on Catherine Tate. I really rate the Ice Warriors though so hopefully the set will go out on a high Donna was easily my favorite companion for ten, possibly/probably for the entire new series. For some reason (mistake?) Amazon had all of S4 up for something like eight bucks. Must've been a pricing error. But I got it. I've been rewatching. It seems to me that the BF Ten-Donna interactions were noticeably more bubbly than in the new series. Donna kept getting seriously beaten up by life in her travels. Lots of tears, etc.

This may have already been answered somewhere in the 33 previous pages, but I couldn't find it in quick search. Is the 5th disc the same as the 5th disc on Volume 1?
Thanks

Thanks Search for threads created by me. Volume 1Volume 2However, Volume 1 is in the style of "Introducing Doctor Who on audio to Nu-Who fans" (incl. introduction by Nick Briggs and comments by RTD). Volume 2 does not include those, and "There was a disc like this on Light at the End, focusing on end of 2013 Doctor Who releases. Most likely it was behind the scenes material leaving post production at the time." - omega If you haven't checked out the article from Vortex released the same month as Volume 1, you really should. ( Discussion thread.)

Thanks. Then I might take it out for a spin sometime.

I really liked this set. Tennant and Piper recaptured their dynamic and the stories all felt as if they could have slotted into Series 2 with ease. Infamy was a great riff on 'scripted reality' shows, Chevalier a good take on a RTD historical figure and Cold Vengeance was entertaining, though did seem to drag a bit.

Big Finish seem to know exactly how to capture the RTD era on audio. I can't wait for a volume three.

This has been a fun set to listen to, overall. Only partway through the Behind the scenes. Haven't started at all on "The Audio Adventures of Doctor Who" part of the set, which I'm guessing is mostly for new listeners. But I'll listen to it anyway.

Some of you may have noticed that Volume 2 does not come with the PDF scripts, unlike Volume 1. Did contact Big Finish a few times to ask, but said something like they didn't have any plans to release them. Not sure why though.

Not sure how I feel about them replacing the original actors. It breaks my immersion.
I'd be much happier if they ran David and Catherine and Billie's original performances through Google translate and recorded the audio that came out of the "Listen" function.

Given the accuracy of Google Translate, that’d come up with some amusing bits of dialogue!

Not sure how I feel about them replacing the original actors. It breaks my immersion. Well, the actresses playing Rose and Donna dubbed those roles on TV. Unfortunately, the actor who dubbed the Tenth Doctor has passed away, so they've gotten someone new for that.
