I will get it before the end of April, but not until I can top up my order to £50. In the meantime I don't think I've ever seen such a resounding silence on a release day.

Have finished the first episode. Whereas the first set was a series of interlinked but somewhat standalone episodes, this one appears to be more of a single story over four episodes. It's been quite good so far. I wish they'd give the viyran friend a name. I'm going to be calling him Fred for the time being.

Like, this is stuff they should be dealing with, yes? Or does they show up shortly beyond the point at which I currently am?

Have just finished up episode three, and, while I am greatly enjoying it, it's very much a UNIT set where they're not allowed to mention UNIT at all. You've got the secret paramilitary organization that supposedly deals with these things but is a bit out of its depth, the nosy reporter who gets in over her head, the computer wiz who stumbles upon the government conspiracy, and the strange alien threat to the world originating from the London Tube Network. Throw in Charlie, Robert, and friend Bertram as our standins for The Doctor & Co; ie: displaced time travelers who happen to have would up in the middle of the situation, Bertram's strange abilities basically mimicking the use of the Sonic Screwdriver, and the Prolixity acting as our proxy for The TARDIS, an unreliable source of time & space travel to get our regulars about. Heck, Bertram even regenerates this go round as well.

I've got this pre-ordered through Amazon. I guess I have to pull out series 1 to remember where we left off.

It's been so long I can't recall much - though remember loving the ep with Charley's parents. Easy to forget the last series was out months before Peter Capaldi's first episode as The Doctor. Time flies. He's wrapping up and we're only getting more Charley now.

Reviewers be warned Mr Briggs has already seen one review he doesn't like and hasn't been shy about saying so its on Twitter if you dare!
(Having now read it myself its a very strong reaction to a minor criticism)

mark687 Agreed, it wasn't a bad review at all. Perhaps Nick is feeling a little Jet Lagged? Cheers Tony

mark687 A 7/10 review, no less. indiemacuser.co.uk/2017/03/28/review-charlotte-pollard-series-2/It's a rather OTT petty response from Nick to a pretty good review overall which praises Nick's direction and writing and ultimately suggests you buy the set. If that's "crappy", I hope he never reads the kinds of things some say about him on Gallifrey Base. We've got some good reviewers on here who are willing to call a spade a spade, luckily. I'm not sure criticising the reviewer for their thoughts when they've been sent the story to review is fair at all. By the by, there are quite a few BF review sources I completely ignore as they rarely criticise anything beyond the superficial and seem to just want to keep their review freebie. Any reviewer who recommends just about everything, by default, recommends just about nothing. We only know the good by knowing the bad as a barometer.

Have listened to the first 3 parts. So far it's been good and I've loved listening to more Charley, but it's nothing amazingly special.

I think he can take things very personally sometimes and it's easy to mis-read an objective review as criticism but it's certainly an unusual comment. I doubt he'll be putting any quotes from that review on the website lol. Cheers Tony
