Probably in bad taste to have Jane, Arnna and Grant Beaumont travel with Team Fivey in the TARDIS. Suggesting musician Glenn Miller was kidnapped by aliens is equally in bad taste but that doesn't stop the UFO people...

It was the right Wales (the New South one) until fairly recently. Gary has been here for work purposes for a number of multi-month periods in the last few years - I believe he's back in the UK right now, and may be back in Australia again if and as work requires. Not that the location of the former producer for BF is necessarily relevant to where stories is necessarily relevant to the decisions of where future BF stories are set... BF have previously released stories written by Phil Pascoe and American-born but Australian resident Jon Blum (as well as Jon's wife, Kate Orman, already mentioned in this discussion). Guy Adams lives in Spain and wrote the Spain set story Fiesta of the Damned.

Phil Pascoe was living in Perth, Australia when he wrote a story set on an unnamed planet in an interplanetary group of worlds known as the Articulate Worlds (...ish). It is not required that you be living in the location where a story is set.

I've quite fancied the idea of an historical set on Norfolk Island. One of its governors is ready made as audio villain material.
(And I'm an Australian author, at least in part - 50%)

'Lost Story' Hexagora starts and ends in Brisbane and has two Aussie characters in it (Tegan and an ex of hers.)
CC 'Transit of Venus' is set on Cook's first voyage and the story ends in Australia.

(And I'm an Australian author, at least in part - 50%) It needs to rain all the time and the wonderfully evocative phrase "we don't like strangers here" needs to have an outing.

The Doctor needs to visit Canada Can we all have a go at this? I think The Doctor needs to visit Ireland! Only three times! But since everyone thinks Gallifrey is somewhere in Ireland he's probably avoiding "going home"

The Doctor needs to visit Canada Can we all have a go at this? I think The Doctor needs to visit Ireland! Oooooh. A pure historical in Civil War Savannah. Or set around The Weeping Time. Chance for some powerful stories there. Or a William Hilton historical for a fun voyage story. A lot of good historical story settings in my neck of the woods.

No, no, no. He clearly needs more Scottish adventures. It's almost like we all think our own home nations should be prioritised

The Doctor needs to visit Canada, Why? Did he lose something? *cough* Erm, companion Sam Jones apparently. She got dropped off at a rally there and he forgot about her for three years. He's never ventured to Canada? Doesn't look like it. Weird to think that everything from Greenland to Palestine has gotten a look in, but no Canada.

Ottawa is mentioned in The Claws of Axos. Of course, Ottawa could be part of the USA in the Whoniverse...

He's been to Canada in the Big Finish short stories. There's even one called "Christmas in Toronto" and another set at the Pickering Nuclear Plant.

Even if we could bring him to our world, the Doctor's too pacifist to deal with many of the real world's threats. Remember, "any more talk of executions and you'll make me your enemy"?
