saw the original series in my childhood (And later watched much of the CGI version)
A bold series where the heroes were not always guarantied a win.
While I associate most Gerry Anderson series with the visual elements, this, along with UFO, seems to be one of the series more heavily-story-based and thus suited to audio version with Spectrum agents trying to understand the latest Mysteron threat and identify Mysteron agents and hope they do so in time to thwart the plan..

Awesome news! I've always enjoyed a bit of Captain Scarlet whether it's on television or in the comics. There's this really nice edge of uncertainty to whether Spectrum's war is even just, let alone whether or not Earth will finally win. It's chilling to have people who you rely upon and trust be killed and replaced with duplicates out to do harm, facsimiles that hold enough of their former selves as to be indistinguishable except in their allegiances (as with Scarlet). Coupled with the willing despots and morally grey characters who didn't need Mysteron subversion to be a threat and you have a pretty deep, interesting series. The comic went one further with its debut story having Cloudbase drop on Unity City and Captain Black kidnap Scarlet using a Stingray-class supersub from Marineville to get to a rocket that's intercepted by XL-series interceptor craft from Space Patrol including Fireball-XL5.

Captain Scarlet was a show I loved as a kid. BBC2 in the early 90s showed it, Thunderbirds and Stingray (hence the big revival for Thunderbirds, with Anthea Turner's paper mache Tracy Island on Blue Peter!) but it was Scarlet I liked the best, it was much more morally dubious with a hero who wasn't clean and a real sense that you can't trust anyone. Also used to, much to my older brother's annoyance, use his CDs against the light to make "Mysterons" on the wall. Captain Black was coooooool. Attachment Deleted

Repeats of Gerry Anderson stuff was my early childhood and I'm sure Big Finish will do them justice. I'm gonna have to find a way to re-watch Scarlet now.

Assuming Nick will be doing the "voice of the Mysterons" . Just hope he remembers which modulator he's using . Loved Captain Scarlet so very interested in this. Cheers Tony

Captain Scarlet would be ok. I'd prefer him and the SPECTRUM gang to those Terrahawk things anyway...

I dunno about Stingray being so easy. Marina saved the Spectrum gang more than a few times and generally played quite a big part of the action on Stingray - not so easy to do a mute character on audio. At least Who characters like The Weeping Angels have a sound effect sting when they move. Marina is totally silent.
The Secret Service next, of all the Anderson shows please.

Goodness those are big pre order prices. Regards mark687 At least there is a decent price difference between the deluxe box & download for a change. still not absolutely sure what we are getting, are they full cast, narrated soundtracks, newly recreated episodes, CC style, single reader, multi reader.... not it sure what to do, I don't really want a load of tv soundtracks from DVDs I already own....... bit dissapointed with this......I was hoping for new stuff
