So I finished reading this early Benny novel and I have to say I love it but I kind of want to start the discussion asking for opinions on the novel or the audio, especially when it comes to the characters, as that was really what the book focused on.

It's been a while since I read the book or listened to the audio but I remember enjoying both. The audio lacks some of the details of the book, obviously, in order to keep the audio story at a reasonable length.

I've not read the book but I have just relistened to the audio (I'm on a major Benny relistening marathon which I started two days ago, just on "Birthright" at the moment).
For those who have both, is there much expansion on the 8s? The culture surrounding them and its formation?

As I said, it's been a while since I read the book/listened to the audio, but I do remember that the book has more background information.

Just hit "Just War". Man, such a great but GRIM story. And one that, IMO, is definitely better than the book. Removing the Doctor just makes the stakes that much more realistic and hard for Benny and Jason.
