The emphasis on Eccleston really bothers me. Although his name isn't displayed on the cover, the sheer size of his image is potentially misleading -- particularly for people who have never listened to Big Finish and know nothing about the style of the Companion Chronicles. I have similar problems with the Short Trips releases, which always unfairly place the face of the Doctor on the cover even though the companion actor is the sole performer. I know that's done to increase sales, but it's kind of dishonest. I understand what you're saying, but I don't think anyone outside of 'this thing called fandom', whodoesn't know Chris Eccleston is not actually in this, is going to feel any more ripped-off than purchasers of Audiogo Ninth Doctor readings that didn't feature him either. That sentence might be the most grammatically incorrect thing I've ever written.

Yeah, I have to agree. The Doctor is all over the cover of any given audiobook, but the actor himself is rarely the one doing the reading.

Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if half the BBC DW audiobooks at Amazon don't actually feature anyone who's on their covers, although many do have some wonderful narrators. (Fortunately all I had to do was click for a product page for the answer to "Who's all in this one?" and I learned very early on to read the fine print).

I'm also in the "wait and see what people think" camp. I'm not opposed to this release, but I'm not excited enough by the cover or the announcement to pre-order it. I'm waiting to hear some feedback on this.

I see the big problem with getting chris to do big finish isn't his attitude... it's his friends.
Louise Jameson was the convincing force behind mad uncle tom comming back to us.
But chris isn't mates with anyone from the show who has bf experience to show him that it's all fine.

Big Finish need to cultivate actors who are available and affordable and also happen to be good friends with Chris. Probably unrealistic but you neever know.

We need to write a letter to Paul McGann then and ask him to persuade his friend that Big Finish is fine.

Maybe that's where Eccleston got the inspiration for a leather jacket from, the Dark Eyes outfit actually belongs to McGann I think... (Makes sense though, they come from similar backgrounds and both are respected character actors who have worked with a lot of the same people) I remember reading an interview with Tennant (unless my memory is playing tricks on me of course) in which he mentioned the two also know each a little bit socially- they had the same vocal coach at one point (and may still do) Tennant recalled bumping into Eccleston when they were both visiting the coach and they had a catch up for a couple of hours discussing the show, I think they also had a couple of scenes together in the film 'Jude'. Eccleston seemed to have got on really well with Nick Briggs and Billie Piper at the time, but that may have simply been a work friendship.

Eccleston got along very well w/director Joe Aherne (sp.?), so if BF could get him first, that would be a certain motivator.

Wasn't there a report or two that having Joe Aherne direct Day of the Doctor was one of the things CE was pushing hard for with Moffat in order to appear in the 50th?

Bruno Langley is literally the reason I want this. Really?! There's a lot I like about the Ninth Doctor and his era... but Bruno Langley is not one of them! I just didn't take to Adam at all. It will be interesting to see what people think of the character once these stories are released.
