Ohh, these sound great, Ben and Polly finally getting maximum potential at Big Finish with both these and The First Doctor Volume 2 It's especially nice because I don't think they got their due on the TV series, plus they have so many episodes lost. It's fantastic that through Big Finish we get to know Ben & Polly more. And Chapman really does such a lovely performance, a real tribute to Michael Craze's memory.

Through Big Finish and the soundtracks Ben, Polly and Jaime have easily become my top three Classic Who Companions. To assemble three/four amazing actors like them in one place so many often times is a wonderful things.

Also, I honestly can't choose which of them sounds the best.

Also, I honestly can't choose which of them sounds the best. I'm pretty excited about the Night Sisters episode, but yeah they all sound pretty great.

A great thread for those of us who don't read DWM (yes, we do exist ), so thank you jbmasta. I'm left wondering (again) how I called myself a BF fan without being a member of DU! I too am pleased to see more of the renewed Ben/Polly/Jamie combination, very badly treated by television for the unjustifed disposal of first Ben and Polly and then the bulk of their episodes. The trio of capable companions from very different backgrounds always had huge potential and it's excellent to see BF using the group frequently at the moment. I do feel sad there won't be a Victoria story though; she may have been a very conventional screamer on screen a lot of the time, but that's not the fault of the companion and oh, what adventures she was in! Recently in 'The Black Hole' Victoria came across well as the intelligent scientist's daughter that she is and she was a key part of a terrific story. I'd have liked to see BF expand futher on this side of the character. And the Jamie / Zoe season is a good contrast, with the emphasis more on 'space hardware' stories and it seems they have picked up on that theme here. The only problem with these EAs is that four in a series is simply not enough for me!

The news gets released through the Big Finish website, but DWM usually gets the announcements at this time of the month early as a possible incentive for people to get the magazine.
The Story of Extinction is another gem, and captures the relationship between Jamie and Victoria wonderfully. I was going to get Deborah to sign the script front at a convention, but she had to cancel due to illness.

Wow. 2017 is the Year of Ben and Polly, isn't it? Three First Doctor stories, three Second Doctor stories. Good to see it.

I think that, after much deliberating, that The Morton Legacy is the one I'm most excited for as I do love a good mystery.

I think I prefer Anneke and Elliot narrating these. Fraser has enough to deal with. Same with Zoe, I always thought the Apoclayse mirror was a weird audio to have them both in first time, Wendy had very little to do.

Can't wait to see the covers! The Early Adventures have some of my favourite artwork.

Anneke Wills and Wendy Padbury are listed as the narrators on the individual product pages. I'm happy about that too - Anneke's one of my favourite narrators; she's got a perfect voice for it (in the same way Peter Purves does).

I love historical Doctor Who stories, so The Night Witches was a nice suprise. Hmmm....I wonder if we might see more releases with the Second Doctor? Technically, it is part of the era....

I'm not disappointed that there isn't a Victoria story. She's probably one of my least favorite companions in all of Doctor Who. And I hate to say it, but I have hard time with her on audio with how much Debra Watling's voice has changed. I usually get over it, but it always takes me quite a while.
Eh, people see The Rolling Stones, it doesn't bother me that, much.
I think there's plenty to be done with Victoria, though. Free from the constriants of the Companion Chronicles format, we can see Victoria learning and encountering about feminism and who she can be more actively within the era - and BF could feed that nicely into her depature.

A second or even fourth wave feminism story with Victoria would be fascinating.
