Yeah, BF's Torchwood has been amazing so far. I came in during series 2, and enjoyed it enough, but Children of Earth is really what sold me on the show. Miracle Day kind of undid most of that (it wasn't totally awful, but I feel like a shorter series would have made it so much better). I still haven't seen all of series 1 yet, but from what I've seen/heard it's hit and miss at best.
But I think BF's Torchwood has been consistently amazing. There's only been one or two releases that I've thought were just "okay" - the rest have been good to brilliant. Long live Torchwood at BF.

Hello again.
Ahh yes Torchwood. It is not Doctor Who and it was wasn't sure what it was at times. However, by series two I was hooked, I loved the team and like Blake's 7 it was not afraid to kill off lead characters. I loved Fragments, it really showed why these characters behaved as they did. Exit Wounds too was a great finale. Children of Earth was frightening, quite simply one of the best dramas that year. Why did they have to kill off Ianto? Why?
The first episode of Torchwood 4 was a fascinating premise but it didn't engage me as much as Torchwood 3. The Radio 4 audios were enjoyable and Torchwood worked well on the radio. So I was pleased when Big Finish got to work on the characters. Great to see stories with all the Torchwood cast. I look forward to hearing the new stories when finances permit.

I'd love to see a story about what they're up to during Sound of the Drums.

Torchwood on TV was a bit uneven for me. I'd love it one week and be bored the next week only to love it again a few weeks later. It's a real roller coaster to watch in terms of quality, but at Big Finish it's pure gold. The Conspiracy is right up there with Children of Earth for me in its' breathless excitement and Fall to Earth is an astonishing hour that ranks as one of my favorite Big Finish releases ever. Before I heard those two releases I struggled a bit with wanting to like Torchwood but having some problems with how it was executed on TV. Big Finish turned me into a full fledged Torchwood fan.

I'm at the point when I hear or read people, including fans and actors alike, pining for more Torchwood on TV I get annoyed. There's wonderful work being done here. As good as the best of what we had on television and definitely more consistent.

I know I'm in the minority, but I thought the basic outline of Miracle Day made for a pretty interesting story.

I'm suprised John Dorney hasn't written a Torchwood release, yet. It's very much his territory, after all.

I'd argue, yes. He's a brilliant writer with a great understanding of humanity - both light and dark. Just look at The Burning Prince, Second Chances and his adapation of The Elite, Esther in the Surrivors box set, the Counter Measures third box set finale. I'm not saying that's all he does - his work for BF has been incredibly well-rounded.
I'm not a fan of the first two seasons of Torchwood on TV, but I'm a big fan of what Big Finish has done with it on BF and for me, he is a perfect fit. He's also got a perchant for writing strong female characters and I'd love for him to get into Tosh or Gwen's or even Suize's head.

Yes, you're right. Then again, I think John Dorney could write for anything, anywhere and it would be amazing. And then I'd also listen to him read the phone book as well. (Does that expression still work these days? Who has a phone book anymore? I need to come up with a new one.)

I'd read it for you to prove its existence, but my voice isn't in the league for that sort of thing
