There's a lot of story to tell with Martha - between Series 4 and the End of Time she was no longer engaged to Tom; she'd left UNIT and got together with Mickey.
Having her with Torchwood gives a different spin but hopefully that's a guarantee for 10DA Series 4.
And it would be nice to have Noel Clarke back too.

I'm still gunning for my Martha Jones: The Year That Never Was box set, where the tone is akin to the first few series of Survivors: a fearful, ruined world where other people are as much a threat as the existential threat of The Death/the Toclafane, and here's Martha, helping people and spreading hope. By my count, there's room for approximately 365 stories

This is cool and all, but am I the only one that remembers Freema's original Torchwood audio debut for BBC Radio? Released almost exactly 11 years ago, featuring Martha reuniting with Jack, Gwen, and Ianto! "Lost Souls" by Joe Lidster was broadcast to time with the activation of the CERN Hadron Collider: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Souls_(Torchwood)www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/bigbang/torchwood.shtmlI still have my copy of the mp3 download they'd offered - will have to dig it out.

I reckon it'll be difficult for Freema to find the time for a boxset, she's the lead in a US series right now. That isn't a deal breaker. The Dark Shadows releases have recorded actors while they were in America. Eric Roberts was recorded for the River Song box set while in America. Creative scheduling is something BF has proved to be quite adept at. The problem is is that Tennant seems to only want to record WITH the actors. Which then makes splitting up recording more difficult.

Yes, Big Finish is brilliant at making it seem like actors were in the same room, but if Tennant feels that his performance suffers without, I’m happy for them to accommodate that.

There was definitely something mentioned around Volume 1 that one of the things that really attracted him to doing BF was getting to work with Catherine again.

I don't remember him recording with Billie Piper? Yes there were pictures of him with Camille Coduri, but none with Billie? Same for Cribbins, I don't think they were together during the recording of No Place?

Well, ain't that something. Martha was never a favorite of mine, but I thought the character had potential and started coming into her own on Torchwood and later Who guest appearances. So I'm glad they're going with that era of the character! Though, I wouldn't say no to a 10 box set that maybe doesn't mire her in Rose aftermath all the frickin' time.Yeah... not sure I want the Martha version of Scherzo to be honest...
I'd kind of kill for that. Ten and Martha trapped on their own with the only way for them to get out being for them both to start making a genuine effort to get over themselves could make for a really interesting hour of drama.

Same for Cribbins, I don't think they were together during the recording of No Place? There's only 3 recording dates for volume 2 of the 10DA's, which would suggest 3 episodes recorded on those days. Normally if there's separate recording for a character, it's usually mentioned on the recording dates still. And there's barely any pictures of McGann recording most of the time even though we know he's recorded most of this stuff with the other actors (I believe one of the Doom Coalition sets was separately recorded but could be wrong there). So a lack of pictures doesn't necessarily indicate that Billie was never with Tennant in studio. And yes, Tennant mentioned with Vol. 1 that working with Tate again was what attracted him to it, and Briggs and others said something similar regarding Billie, that it was difficult getting them to have time off where both can record at the same time, indicating they were recording together. (In saying that, I do believe you're right regarding Bernard Cribbins, I think he recorded his part separately than everyone elses). Edit: Going through the limited edition of Vol. 2, it explicitly says that the scripts were written months before recording as they were waiting for Tennant and Piper to be available to record together, and there's little anecdotes and stuff from them recording together.

David definitely recorded with Billie, but I suspect there were no pictures of her at the recording at her request (or a rights issue or something) - if you look in the limited edition set, there is a picture of the entire cast of Zaross *except* for Billie.
And there was an anecdote from the recording of No Place in DWM describing David, Catherine, Jacqueline and Bernard all being in the same room, IIRC.

Colour me corrected regarding Bernard Cribbins then! Shame there was no pictures (though oddly, there wasn't any recording pictures at all. Those were instead taken up by the storyboards/costume designs in the set.

Haha, it is great how tastes differ. I absolutely adore Scherzo with India and Paul, but if anything, Martha would be even more awkward than Charley was...
Only difference would be that Ten only just recently had lost Rose (another thing I never have been onboard with) and that would add extra drama. However.... for me at least this could slip into very awkward territory pretty quickly.

One of the good things about Tennant and Donna is the 'not a couple' and 'just mates' lines that dogged the TV episodes aren't in force in the audios. A Martha set would hopefully tone down the post-Rose angst. Certainly by the later stories they seem to be just having great adventures together. Some adventures set around the time in Blink would be believable in this regard I reckon.

Great news about Freema joining Big Finish. I think Martha is brilliant and one of my favourite companions. She had a rough first half of her series, with the ghost of Rose trying to eclipse her, but Martha really shines in the last half; it’s a shame she spends so little of it with the Doctor! Martha differs from Rose & Donna in that she’s always felt very well served in expanded universe material, with plenty of comics and books.
I don’t normally delve into the Torchwood releases, but I’ll make an exception for Dissected. Fingers crossed that Volume 4 of the 10DAs includes Martha and that Big Finish give her a Year That Never Was spin-off. That would make for a nice trilogy with The Dimension Cannon and the upcoming Kidnapped!

Oh okay, my bad then. Well, now that they finally got Freema on board, it's only a matter of time before she has a box set with Tennant. Now we know it's more than likely to happen sooner than later.
