Interesting note from BF on if your buying internationally that they buried in Today's News Piece
Note: products are sold in £ sterling on the Big Finish website but will be converted to local currency upon checkout.
As a UK customer this has no impact but i think its the 1st time I've seen it stated.

I just panic-bought a few audios I've been sitting on and can report that the price change has not yet been made retroactive on items currently up for presale.

The problem with billing everyone the UK price is that the there's a probably insoluble fairness issue with taxation.
Foreign sales don't attract the 20% Value Added Tax, so Big Finish would be pocketing more from from overseas customers. On the other hand, treat foreign customers differently to allow for this and Brits can cheat by faking a foreign address (I would guess this is already happening to some degree).

Panic averted.

Foreign sales don't attract the 20% Value Added Tax, so Big Finish would be pocketing more from from overseas customers. On the other hand, treat foreign customers differently to allow for this and Brits can cheat by faking a foreign address (I would guess this is already happening to some degree). Edit to add “I’m not an expert, this is what I gleaned off Gov.uk about vat.” Not necessarily. Without going into the delicious delicacies of U.K. vat law, which has changed since 31/12/20, BF may be liable for vat to overseas customers. For example there is a 3 month rule - “3.5 Time limits for exporting the goods and obtaining evidence You must export the goods and get valid evidence of export within the time limits shown in the table. In all cases the time limits are triggered by the time of supply (see paragraph 2.11). If you have not exported the goods within the time limits, or do not hold the necessary evidence to show that the goods have been physically exported, you must not zero rate the supply and must account for VAT at the appropriate UK rate (see paragraphs 11.2 and 11.3).“ The time limit is 3 months. Also there is now customs and excise to clear. To ship outside the UK every parcel must have the correct customs form and duty paid. The freight companies now charge extra to ship outside the U.K. Duty is another area where it depends on value of goods and supply law. Supply law applies not to where the company is based, i.e BF is based in the U.K. but where the goods BF sell were manufactured. For example, I could sell to someone in the EU a cd. To export the cd from the U.K. to the EU without a tariff being applied the cd components, ie the various plastic, metal, paper and ink has to have been made in the U.K. If for instance the plastic came from outside the U.K. and the EU, even though the cd was assembled in the U.K., tariffs would apply on importing item to an eu country. And of course even though the item may be 0% vat you now have to vat registered in the country to where you are shipping the item. So the U.K. government has advised companies to have offices in the countries they ship/sell to to help with vat and store goods. The vat rules of the EU mean that you have to be vat registered on that buyers country, so if you sell to a customer in Germany and Poland for instance, you need to be vat registered in both countries, as vat/duty is collected by the individual country and not as a bloc. I think I’ve got this right. Vat/duty/customs/supply law is difficult to summarise and various conditions and exemptions have to be applied which are too detailed to mention here. Broad strokes only.

Yeah seems about right. Also happening in the other direction for certain companies and individuals. They've had to stop shipping to the UK for awhile as the HMRC forms were seemingly difficult to navigate
