After cancelling my audible subscription a few months ago, I've just come across this deal: www.vouchercodes.co.uk/audible.co.uk?rc=4790803First 3 months @ £3.99 per month for 1 credit a month. As I have mercenary tendancies, I've signed up again and instantly pre-ordered the second 10th Doctor novel collection (not bad for £3.99). Just remember to cancel before it goes up to the normal price of £7.99 per month. Thrifty? Tight? Or just careful with my money . Cheers Tony The helpful tips I pick up from DU never end, thanks Tony! For me 'Big Finish' material comes direct from Big Finish - whether I'm buying a release on CD or download only, I like their high bandwidth downloads for the rich sound designs and music - and DRM-free, so I can enjoy them on even my most antiquated devices and in any player. But for 'Doctor Who' novel readings from the BBC collection etc., I'm happy with Audible and a bargain is always welcome...

Offer expires at the end of Feb 19th.Two recently added Audible items which may make this attractive, two bargain bundles each of five older Target audios - great titles and readers, at the usual one credit for each bundle: 'The Master Collection': The Doomsday Weapon (=Colony in Space), The Daemons, The Sea Devils, Logopolis, Castrovalva 'The Monsters Collection': The Cybermen (=The Moonbase), Tomb of the Cybermen, The Abominable Snowmen, The Ice Warriors, Earthshock

An offer for current Audible members: until March 4th, about 400 of Audible's previous 'Daily Deal' titles are all back on sale, most priced between 1.99 and 3.99. Among the science fiction titles on offer are '2001', 'Rendezvous with Rama' and 'Jurassic Park'. The bargain title imo is Robert Tombs' superb book 'The English and Their History' narrated by a very familiar name and voice: Stephen Thorne. A magnificent journey from pre-history to 2014 (expanding to become a UK history in later sections of course), it's as sizeable a book as you'd imagine and thus it clocks in at over 45 hours in audiobook form! On offer for 2.99

Another Audible bundle of older (and excellent) 'Target' audiobook titles comes out on April 5th, a must-have for Third Doctor fans if you haven't got the individual stories:
Doctor Who: The UNIT Collection The Auton Invasion (=Spearhead from Space), The Cave Monsters (=The Silurians), Inferno, Terror of the Autons, The Three Doctors Read by Caroline John (1-3), Geoffrey Beevers and Katy Manning.
All very good books and the first two are especially fine novels from the start of the 'Target' range.

There’s some freebies worth picking up - Simon Callow reads The Signalman adapted by Joe Lister and all of Dave’s Crackanorys are up too, including one read by Sheridan.
I’ve only been on Audible less than a year, there’s not much for me there though. I’ve already used my 3 month hiatus. I joined for their exclusive Aliens and X-Files dramatisations. There’s several Star Wars audiobooks I’d love to get, but they aren’t available on co.uk yet.
But apart from that, I love collecting CDs too much still. Even if I only rip them to listen on my phone.

(Just as people in the UK can also buy goods from Amazon.com or .de/.fr./.jp etc.) Different marketplace and currency but Amazon are - usually - happy to take your money whatever site you use. You do need to log-in to each Audible marketplace separately on the Audible app to download the relevant books to your device though.

Oh yeah, I know they are happy to take money, but you can’t use your monthly token.

There’s some freebies worth picking up - Simon Callow reads The Signalman adapted by Joe Lister That's not quite what it is. The Signalman and the other short stories are the original texts, Joe didn't "adapt" them. He wrote the dramatic linking material between the story readings which tells another story of its own... It's available to buy tooThe days are getting colder, the nights are getting longer, and as Christmas approaches the time is high for some ghostly tales. As an exclusive gift for Audible members, settle down, snuggle up and listen to four chilling ghost stories, read by Simon Callow. Four great stories, one master storyteller - what could be simpler than that? Also featuring Sally Phillips, John Banks and Dan Starkey, this exclusive recording includes 'Between the Lights' by E.F. Benson, 'A Strange Christmas Game' by J.H. Riddell, 'Was It an Illusion' by Emelia B. Edwards and 'The Signalman' by Charles Dickens.
