12PM UK Time.
David Tennant, the Tenth Doctor, star of Broadchurch, in the West End’s Don Juan in Soho, and Big Finish veteran, celebrates his birthday today!
Big Finish have been lucky to have had David Tennant working on audio stories past and present. In celebration of his birthday, we’re having a special on all of his Big Finish releases, starting from £1.99! This includes the return of the Tenth Doctor to audiences in Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures, starring David himself and Catherine Tate playing Donna Noble. These three stories are available at a discount individually, or you can purchase all the Tenth’s adventures in collected form on CD for £25, or download for £20 and use the free Android or iOS app to travel with the Doctor and Donna anywhere.
David had also worked with us before he became the sensational Tenth Doctor - his first appearance, with Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred, in Doctor Who: Colditz, is available for Download and reduced to the fantastic price of £1.99! David also starred opposite Colin Baker in Doctor Who: Medicinal Purposes - a year before the new series returned to TV screens. Catch this adventure for £5 a Download or £6 on CD. His two appearances in our Doctor Who: Unbound range - Sympathy for the Devil and Exile are both priced at £2.99 on Download and £4 for the CD version.
Apart from David's work as the Doctor and with his previous incarnations, you can tune in to hear him battle against the scourge of the galaxy in the Dalek Empire stories. Each of these are now at £4 a CD or £2.99 as a Download, with all six series three titles in special offer Dalek Empire bundles for £12 on Download and £20 on CD. Or you can join David on his adventures with UNIT as Colonel Brimmicombe-Wood in UNIT: The Wasting (with the CD bundle of Unit - Classic Series 1 reduced to £12). If you prefer your adventures more steampunk than sonic, then try The Adventures of Luther Arkwright. Based on the comic book by Bryan Talbot, David is Luther Arkwright, who fights the Disruptors in a very alternative England…
These offers only last until mid-day (UK time) on Wednesday 19th April, so enjoy whilst they last. Allons-y!
Regards

Has anyone heard The Adventures Of Luther Arkwright which is mentioned in this Tennant offer? Is it any good? At £6 for a 3 disc set it looks to be good value and maybe worth a punt. It's one of the few Big Finish releases that I couldn't get into at all but take that with a grain of salt because most here seem to really enjoy it.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I like it: it's a fairly "out-there" kind of story that involves parallel worlds, alternative history, mysticism and a scene on Disc 3 where David Tennant says {Spoiler} "I love you, Rose."

Same here, although I tried a second time a year later and it was a little better.

I really like it. In fact, this news has prompted me to give it another listen.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed The Adventures of Luther Arkwright quite a lot. The only story in this sale I didn't already own is Doctor Who Unbound: Exiles, so I grabbed it. For the price, I couldn't pass it up.

Now I'm only halfway through and already consider it, like much of the subject matter, shit (in case the swear filter kicks in, it's S H I T, as in Sugar Honey Ice Tea).

The only one from this sale I don't have is Exile - and from what I've heard, I won't be getting it. Sympathy for the Devil on the other hand is superb. Luther Arkwright is great but quite complex and needs concentrating on (I bought it on CD before the download was available and I'm tempted to spend the £3 to get it attached to my downloads).
Cheers

Is it really necessary to use that language and spell it out? I'm sure you could find a politer would to say you think it stinks.

Thanks for the responses. I'll give it try, nothing ventured nothing gained, and it's only £6 so not a disaster if it's not to my taste. Give us your thoughts when you listen

I am definitely a believer in people picking up whatever titles they can while they are on offer. We all like different things so you might love Exile. I have found some good stories - including whole ranges - from trying out Big Finish stuff that's on offer. Life has also taught me that every Doctor Who story has it's fans! Which I think is great. Imagine how dull it would be here if we all agreed with each other.
