Looks like registration is up for this event with Peter Davison announced as the first guest regenerationwho.com/Their tea with the Doctor event is almost sold out.

No new announcements yet, but at Shore Leave they said there should be some soon.
Did anyone here go to the Regenerators party (which is one of the things you get by paying $30 more to VIP tier 1)?
If so, how was it? If I remember right it was Friday night. Enough food to not need to go out an get dinner?
Thanks,
Neil

Registered for the event. Just basic membership at the moment. I might add on a t-shirt and VIP level or maybe not.

Looks like they got Pearl Mackie. I'm a little nervous because they did have a flurry of cancellations last year, but mostly excited about the possibility that she might be there!

Agreed that's exciting but as pretty much all their New Series guests cancelled last year (even down to the last minute) I am not going to get my hopes up. Right now I am not registered but I have booked the Tea with the Doctor. If I do Gally (which is up in the air for me at this point) I won't be able to afford Regen Who too. But if I decide not to do Gally then I can probably do Regen. The main expense is hotel. Whereas at Gally I have hotel and airfare to worry about (although I have someone to share room costs at Gally).

Has anyone booked the hotel yet? I am just curious if I am going to be charged now or when I check out.

I didn't book for RGW4, but we did book for the Potterverse con this September, which is the same organizers and the same hotel and we have not been charged, so my guess would be that you'll be booked at checkout. To the best of my recollection, that's how it was handled for RGW3.

Looks like Pearl had to cancel. It's disappointing, but not unexpected, as we acknowledged the possibility in this very thread.

In the note they say, "The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that Pearl Mackie has taken a role in "The Birthday Party" that conflicts with our 2018 dates." Here is an interview with Pearl Mackie about the play

Very happy to see that they booked Rachel Talalay. I've really enjoyed her work (on Who and elsewhere) and I'm quite looking forward to seeing her.

Really considering going down for this. It's probably my favorite con. It's smaller than most, but that makes it feel that much more intimate. Every guest really seems to want to be there. If the trip is feasible for you, I'd absolutely urge you to attend. I've gone all three years and I haven't had a bad experience yet. The things I like about this board (the community, the absence of gatekeeping) are the same things I like about the convention.

Small con and everyone is just so happy to be there. This year was my third as well. I'm really hoping I can swing it this year.

They just announced Sarah Sutton, William Russell and Carole Ann Ford! This is really shaping up to be an impressive lineup.

Jason Haigh Ellery and Matthew Waterhouse announced Regards mark687 Very cool. I thought that Matthew lived in the US, but I see my information was out of date. (He moved back to the UK in 2016). The showrunners at the con have a session where the audience can ask them questions. I asked if they were trying to get more guests from modern Who because that's how the guest list skewed that year. She said that they ideally aim for a 50/50 split. They want the con to be as accessible as possible, and a lot of modern fans only know the modern incarnation. That said, my guess is that it's easier to book people from Classic Who, which suits me just fine, because that's where my interest lies.

I'm so surprised that William Russell is going to be there. I would never have thought that he would make the trip to the US for a con. Now I want to go even more!
