So, it's set between The Last Stop and The Phantom Bride, but the description of the opener makes it seem like Tony & Cassandra haven't seen each other in a while. Hmm...

Is there to be no Big Finish news item about this release?

Pervious? There's a spelling mistake on the Tony and Cassandra collection. Voodoo Amulet is called Voodoo Mask.

I think I got interrupted ten times listening to the first story but I'd rather have done that than saving it for whenever a more opportune time may be. Besides getting to be the first (and likely only, lol) kid on my block to hear some of it, I've been looking forward to this set quite a bit. I have to say, if I enjoy the whole set as much as I enjoyed The Mystery at Crucifix Heights, this is quite the set of stories we have here.
(I also have to commend David Darlington on coming up with another striking and dramatically accented variation on the main Dark Shadows theme that somehow meets with the approval of this particular set of ears even when by all rights they should want the theme should sound exactly the way they've heard it 10,000+ times).
It really is quite wonderful to get a whole set of the delightful Tony & Cassandra, and I also like the way Big Finish has bundled the early stories into a collection - that's a great package of great stories, now an even greater bargain.
Hmmm, now what to do? Spread out the spookiness out over the month leading up to Halloween and just listen to one story a week from the set, or will that seem too much like torture?

I find that whatever rules I set out for myself concerning Dark Shadows releases go out of the window almost immediately, and I listen to them all at the earliest opportunity.

Oh I'm loving the first one. {Spoiler} Just guffawed about the reference to Jenny Swift's Pirate Treasure. Seems some of the Marilyn Ross novels do have parallels in the main time band!

The Mystery at Crucifix Heights{Spoiler} "Have you seen my Fanny by Gaslight?" This is a riot - terrific fun. Completely under the Dark Shadows umbrella, but with a perfectly played lightness of touch that works every time. Absolutely love this first instalment. I notice The Tony and Cassandra Mysteries is billed as Series 1 on my download. Too much to hope these could be a regular thing? And as others have said, the new version of the theme is excellent.

Okay. I'm a bit fuzzy on this, since it was yesterday but something bubbled up in my brain... was there a reference to: {Spoiler} Martha and her wayward brother?
If so I wonder if that's a reference to Martha Seymour, the married sister of Harry Johnson.

Oh, and paz? I loved that line too. Possibly the filthiest and campest gag we've had yet in Dark Shadows - and totally a Philip line.
Loving Rita generally.
And yes, the new theme is very good.

Finished all the rest of the box today.
Very impressed, not a dud in the box.....even the Groundhog Day tale which I usually hate had, still got my thumbs up.
I just hope that this is the first in a long line of boxes.
Possibly my favourite BF release this year.......a big thank you to all involved

At the start of Flight 493 Jerry Lacy sounds more like Roger Davis.
