I enjoyed the latest pod cast with Nick and Joseph I especially listened with interest at the clips of Doom Coalition and something for me was glaringly apparent, it sounded like Nu Who, maybe perhaps this might be due to listening on new speakers I will have to check. Also the new baddie 11 sounds a little like Solomon baddie in the latest MI Film, again maybe has I watched that recently as well. Lots of comparative's crossover recollections here. Once again there was a massive hint of another Bernie Summerfield Box Set, and also talk about the new Counter Measures spin off prequel, sequel what ever you want to call it.

That was a good podcast. I am pleased to hear them say they will be back next week! Having a weekly podcast would go along way to making up for the closure of their forum.
I guess I shouldn't have been surprised not to hear anything about that.
As for Doom Coalition that first clip sounded very "Silence of the Lambs", but his voice keeps reminding me of Tim Trelor and therefore the Third Doctor!

mbt66 I agree I think that with the shutting of the forums, that BF should be a little bit more geared up, and do a weekly one, it does not have to be Nick each week, in fact I think that it would be good that others had a chance, even perhaps offer the options of listeners views being able to be added, email now is dare I say it showing it's age, with the access to such thing as audio/tweeting and it derivatives. I welcome the POD casts, I also thought that Kris ought to be commended for the Periscope broadcast done from the #bfd7 the other Saturday.

At least they should have acknowledged the closing of the forum, maybe said something about how it was getting too much too handle for the mods. Even a free story or episode one (where you don't need a password from an e-mail to access) to lessen the pain of the sudden suspension.

It'd be great if there was a regular weekly podcast again. It can cover different areas like the various ranges (an overview, beginners guide, recommendations for stories, exclusive behind the scenes material like outtakes), the production process (how each stage is done, how long it takes, different challenges etc) or even a typical day in the office or the sales team (it'd be great to put a voice to the names of the people who answer the sales queries). More creative competition questions like coming up with titles for the individual episodes on specific Main Range stories. I remember another podcast ages ago ran a competition where the question was about the funniest thing for K-9 to do. The winning answer was singing the K-9 and Company theme tune.
Whatever happened to that big Main Range 200 poll? Did that just get forgotten in the forum closing?

I am pleased to hear them say they will be back next week! It's getting close to 2 months since the last general podcast was released. Nick must be really busy. It's a shame that the filler non-Toby Hadoke podcasts aren't a thing, because that'd really make things interesting (in a variety sort of way, I'm not saying that Toby's interviews are boring). Even a five minute sneak peek into what's currently recording or general greenroom chatter would be great. I've wanted to hear what the cast talk about when they aren't in front of the microphone (recording the story or extras).

I keep looking for a new podcast. I really miss the old Big Finish podcasts.
I have a hard time understanding the Toby Hadoke podcasts - often background noise - so I don't really listen to those.

If you're looking for a good Doctor Who-related podcast, The Doctor Who Book Club Podcast is a good one to try. It's two guys, Erik and Sean, who each month read on of the original novels and discuss it on the podcast. Whether or not you've read the books, it's interesting listening and if you don't care about spoilers, it's a great way to find titles you might want to read. iTunes only has the last 50, but the earliest ones can be downloaded from the website. Last month was the Seventh Doctor PDA Relative Dementias, while the next one is Sixth Doctor MA Millennial Rites.

I have The Big Finish Podcast on my podcast list and I keep looking hopefully to see if they've put out a new podcast. And am disappointed when I don't see a new one.

I just thought that you'd want something to fill the vacuum left by the lack of regular podcasts. I miss the days when Nick, Paul and David would get around the microphone and say a brief word on each of the new releases for each month, beyond simply introducing and playing a trailer. It was one of the things that was great about their listener interaction.

Yeah, that's what I miss, too.
I have other podcasts that I am listening to, so no lack of podcasts. But I'd love more Big Finish podcast.

On the bright side, the upcoming annual Big Finish Chicago TARDIS location podcast should be an informative treat to listen to!

I too am missing the podcast. I would have no problem if it was someone else within Big Finish recording a regular podcast rather than them just having to rely on Mr Briggs.
I would even suggest with how much printing is evidently costing them, with the reduction in the size of the CD booklets, that they replace the printed monthly Vortex with a weekly Vortex podcast.

From Facebook
"Christmas at Big Finish begins tomorrow! Our legion of Writers, Producers and Directors will be descending on Big Finish Towers for the recording of the annual Big Finish Christmas Special Podcast - which may or may not include the return of the much celebrated gameshow 'My Shelf!' As well as the usual mirth and merriment, they'll also be a chance for the team to answer your questions – so if you have any burning queries, email us at podcast@bigfinish.com and you could have your letter read out by a Big Finish star!"

Also when someone asked about the chance of special offers before Christmas, they repiled: "No special offers - but there will be some very exciting news from one of longest running ranges..."
