Just because the news is unlikely to be a novelisation based on Blink (I mean - why?) doesn't mean it mightn't be exciting.

I don't think it's news. I just think it's a feature on the website.

Who's the announcement meant to be from? The BBC themselves or BBC Audio or BBC Books? Tbh I don't see the appeal of a novelisation of Blink really, it's such a visual story. The official Doctor Who BBC Worldwide site DoctorWho.TV. The appeal of it to me is that there's classic series novelisations so why not some new series ones?

It involves Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat apparently:

Surely there are more deserving stories to start with than Blink. Blink is brilliant but I don't see how it would translate well into novel form, it so visual and contained. If it's the BBC Worldwide site it could be anything from who's reading the upcoming audiobooks to new novels.

I would prefer The Day of The Doctor, but tomorrow is ten years since Blink was broadcast so announcing a novelisation of that story would have been fitting. It's not who's reading upcoming audiobooks because it involves Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat.

Looks like it's not a book or anything of note, so probably just a pair of interviews that has been hyped up for no obvious reason.

It'll be on doctorwho.tv and is said to be two announcements but about the same thing. The first is dropping at 7am UK time. I really hope its a missing episode recovery, followed by details of a DVD release, but I always do and it hardly ever is. I auppose it could be the animation of more stories if Power sold well enougj.

Admittedly if those two are involved it's more likely to be new series related, so looks like I'm not getting any more missing episodes returned. Replacement for the Cardiff Doctor Who experience? Existing one closes next month so it's time we had some news there.

More likely they don't to pay guest performers more

You mean Murray Gold? I wonder if they've ever thought about asking JK Rowling to novelise The Shakespeare Code? That's what I'd be doing if I were BBC Worldwide. I think she is a little busy with 4 more fantastic beast scripts right now......

You were replying to my first post while I was typing my second and I hadn't seen it. I'm now aware he's saying its not a release or an announcement, but that something is going live at 7am and 12pm. To be honest it is sounding like he was being very naive in opening the Pandora's box that is fan anticipation. He's sounding a bit shirty with people now in his twitter feed and I think is wishing he hadn't said anything.

The thing is, he was clearly teasing something 'very, very special' so whatever it is is going to turn out to be a big disappointment. Somebody at BBC Worldwide should have advised against posting the tweet.

Very strange that this would be hyped up as something 'very, very special'...

He should have just said it was an interview with Steven Moffat from the start.

Cheers for that - nice interesting interview. I hope Moffat pens something similar to RTD's 'The Writer's Tale' when he leaves - warts and all!
