I have nothing further to add on this topic.
Just thought I'd make this post to emphasise that.

As an example, look at the 'Third Doctor Adventures'. Jon Pertwee appears as the Doctor in the artwork of a few Third Doctor CCs and on the 'sidebar' of all of them, also 'The Mega' which is another part-narrated story. But he does not appear on the cover of the 'Third Doctor Adventures' except as a figure in strong backlighting and heavy shadows to obscure the features. Personally I think he should; we all know that Jon Pertwee is sadly no longer with us, so there is no chance of confusion, and I was pleased to see that for Volume 3 he does appear in the sidebar, CC style, but still only on the internal CD leaflet, not on the cover. Maybe in another two volumes he'll be shown proudly in the main cover artwork as he should be - Tim Treloar is giving wonderful performances and we can appreciate his great skill in playing the Doctor in the style of Jon Pertwee, when we know perfectly well that it isn't Jon Pertwee. Even when there's no chance of confusion, it's surely a sign of how sensitive BF consider it is to portray the Doctor on full-cast artwork when the original actor does not appear. Jon Pertwee should be fully shown on the cover of every Third Doctor story, (i.e. not in shadow) as he is the Third Doctor. There is no other Third Doctor, just another actor impersonating him, just as William Russell and Frazer Hines do with the First and Second Doctors in various Big Finish audios. Everybody knows that William Hartnell, Pat Troughton and Jon Pertwee are no longer with us, so I don't see any confusion. Absolutely right! Full equality for the one-and-only Third Doctor! And it's about time his range was shown as a range with all the other ranges, some of which are really quite obscure. (I think I might have mentioned this before...)

I dunno how these things work, but shouldn't Dave's picture be lots bigger if I was supposed to expect to hear the Tenth Doctor in Tales of New Earth? More like he'll be mentioned several times, from the look of it.

God, I love this.
What a fantastic left-turn. I don't think any of us were expecting that - and it's best to do the unexpected. Look at how complecent we've all become with the New Series stuff. It makes me wonder what else they've got planned. (A series exploring Earth post-The Year I Died, perhaps?)
It's a nice way to expand upon the RTD era and yet do something different. As ever, Big Finish are quick to innovate and reinviogate themselves. I can't imagine what else they have planned

Kinda random, but if you didn't know anything about the Who franchise that would be a rather confusing/mildly creepy cover...
Eh, it doesn't really strike me as anything less odd or striking then other sci-fi stuff.

(On which tangent, it would be great to have CDNM3 - I did read and appreciate the explanation of the continuity problems with using some of the other 'monsters', but hey!, this is 'Doctor Who'. I could tolerate a lot of memory wipes and wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey to explain why Doctors Four to Eight can't remember their encounters with the Ood, the Silence, the Eaters of Light, the Clockwork Droids, etc.)
Eh, there's been a pushback agasint all that, though from fandom. I do wonder if it's a vocal minority, though - I'm content with it for the purpose of the story.

New Earth was a major story arc in the Ninth and Tenth Doctor eras, and one of the few worlds the Doctor has ever paid repeat visits to on television. It's not exactly scraping the barrel. Major story arc? It only got two, at best three episodes if you count The End of the World. For good or for ill, no one really talks about New Earth or Gridlock anymore. I did find Yasmin Bannerman's acting in The End of the World rather wooden.
It's still a big part of the era, right from the beginning of the new series to the introduction of the Tenth Doctor and Martha's journey. Part of the initial journey to the different and the unknown.
I think it's a brilliant move

Personally, I'm still holing out for a Man with Chips spinoff, or a Handles origin story. But seriously, this boxset seems such a left-field, random choice for a spinoff I'm not sure how I feel, the location in the TV series left very little impact on me and I didn't particularly enjoy the episodes it featured in, so my immediate reaction was indifference, I'm unlikely to get this set for budget reasons anyway. On the other hand BF have worked their magic with numerous other unusual stories or settings before, and no doubt they will be aware of how skeptical/surprised some may be by this announcement, so I'm sure they've got something interesting and surprising lined up with this set.

Gridlock provided the most intriguing look at the setting, but it also resolved that nightmarish situation, alas. This honestly feels like it would be better suited to a charity short-story anthology, not a standard Big Finish boxset. BF may be flying high right now, but I worry about over-saturation. Also, I think the Satellite 9 time-period is significantly more fascinating.

I think the unlikely duo of a anthropomorphic talking paving slab and her 45 year old boyfriend would probably draw more attention to themselves than the actual things they were investigating...they'd probably get arrested by UNIT on their first case.

I'm under the impression this release is akin to the Churchill Years, Volume 1 of the TDAs or The Confessions of Dorian Gray. Where these stories are 'full cast' but also feature a narration buffer. Where do you get that from? Based on my memory of the original announcement, I thought it was going to be entirely full-cast. As no-one's followed up on this, I might as well - no, neither the original announcement nor the recent news story used the phrase "full-cast".
