Here are a few that spring to mind: Kel and His Council Van The Moxx of Balhoon's Exercise Videos Idris Hopper's Secretarial postings Tish Jones' Many Jobs for Harold Saxon The Adventures of Laszlo, Tallulah and Frank in Hooverville Rory's Dad Makes Cups of Tea Lady Christina Jenny: The Doctor's... Oh wait, scratch those last two, they'd never work. I’m still waiting for Tales From Flydale North. In all seriousness: If they can get Penelope Wilton on board, surely BF will do something with Harriet Jones at some point? I also think it's very likely they'll do something with Margaret Blaine at some point. A The Thick of It-style series, perhaps.

Why are you all complaining and mocking Big Finish for getting spin-offs out? We're talking about the same company who have audios chronicling the adventures of Jago and Litefoot, Countermeasures, Charlotte Pollard and Abby and Zara. I don't think anyone asked for those either, but they have their following and have produced, arguably, quality content over the years.

And it quite hypocritical for people in this thread who have raved, and even tried to make a spinoff of a spinoff with Jago and Litefoot and trying to have it continue. It's the most random spinoff(tied with Countermeasures) that Big Finish has ever and will ever probably produce as Litefoot and Jago one off characters that had no real future set out after Talons until Big Finish. For Example... Bernice was a. their first and only licence for a year or so and b. Benny was an established companion of The Doctor's Wilderness Years Charley is also an established character Gallifrey was a continuation of three 4th doctor's lives Graceless was a continuation of two companions Iris was an established novel "companion" Sarah Jane was an established and very popular companion River Song, Torchwood and Captain Jack as well as Unit have all made more appearances in the T.V show than Jago and Litefoot Jenny had a open ending and there was always possible future stories unlike J and L who were never more than side characters who weren't the focus of the episode, unlike Jenny Christina was more of a companion in her episode than J and L but this one is YMMV so it is very debatable. Tales of New Earth made several appearances in the RTD Era And the other thing is that when Nick said a couple of podcasts ago that they only spend what they make, one of the first reactions people had was questioning weather or not they should be making things like The Doctor Chronicles, Tales of New Earth etc. even going as far as other ranges such as Dark Shadows which they went to assume that because of their disinterest in the range made it something unprofitable for Big Finish. If it was unprofitable for Big Finish, do you think that DS would be going for over 10 years and that they have renewed the licence at least once. Finally, posters are talking about Big Finish producing spin offs because they don't have access to Doctors, which is true but is okay. They got the ability to play with these characters and add to them just like they did with Jago and Litefoot. Should we really be mad that they are doing so? And Big Finish were probably very aware that they would not be able to get new series doctors very often if at all due to their busy schedules and that they might not want to return the role. They most likely pursued the licence for the lesser known/less populacharacters to expand as that is, at least in my opinion, their strong suit.

The way I look at it, they are paying the BBC for the license to produce Doctor Who related audios, they are going to go ahead and produce Doctor Who related audios. And as always, no one is holding a gun to anyone's head forcing them to purchase this range or that.

Agreed, and some of it has a lot to do with the strength of the actors. Jago & Litefoot worked because of both the concept of the series and the fact that Trevor and Chris are very very good actors. I think that's also what they are thinking with Lady Christina. A series of stories about a member of royalty who is a jewel thief but also has some strong morals is a interesting idea and then we have Michelle Ryan playing her. They get a little more attention because it's a character from Who but it's less about the character and more about concept and actress. Just look at how drastically different Benny is from River. On paper they could look like similar characters. But Benny has very pure morals and my favourite thing about Benny is she is very passionate about Archaeology and it forms her identity and outlook on the world. River is more of someone who has the skills and knowledge but less of the passion. Benny will get passionate about Archaeology finds and digs and will stumble into an adventure. River will get passionate about an adventure and stumble into archaeology. But even past that there are so many more differences for what looks like a similar idea on paper. I love them both. With a lot of these you need to look at the concept itslef if it seems like an odd idea for a spinoff. SciFi is a boundless universe of possibility and Doctor Who's universe is just about as boundless.
