The Fall of the House of Trask - I always enjoy the departures from the original series that this audio gets away with (meaning things happen to the characters that I'd never have dreamed of from watching the OS) while still being perfectly and very satisfyingly Dark Shadows. I also really enjoy all the tie-ins (great work, Joe!) and I think Marie Wallace was brilliant to cast as Sister Audrey, she just seems so adorable that it really gets to me when the trouble starts.
Slightly on the downside, I'm not sure Nigel Fairs makes for the scariest Dark Lord (on the other hand, I didn't think Duane Morris was either, so even that tends to seem rather authentically true-to-form), and I almost wish The Fall of the House of Trask could have been a full cast multi-part just so everyone could get a few licks in - it almost doesn't seem right that Angelique isn't present to strangle a poppet in Trask's honor - but it's pretty darned awesome for what it is.
Also I should complement the sound design on all of the audios in this listen-through - I think Davy Darlington must be at risk for being overlooked for accolades just because the sound design is so consistently great that that's something we can pretty much take for granted (but shouldn't). (I also enjoyed being reminded on most of these how skillfully and effectively he made use of the fact that even the first three notes of the theme are iconic, even when I am so accustomed to hearing the full theme play out).

I've caught up and finished our listen-thru. Both scary and fun--I do agree that Nigel isn't the scariest possibility for the Dark Lord. His voice is perhaps a bit too pleasant. Is the Dark Lord actually Satan? Or is he Diabolos?
Observation: I noticed this when the audio was first released, but forgot to mention it. I don't believe that nurses in the States were ever addressed as "Sister" like they were in the UK (maybe still are?) unless they were also nuns, and many were. In Audrey's case, we know she's not a nun--she's married.
Fun revisiting these excellent stories from our 1897 listen-thru!

Is the Dark Lord actually Satan? Or is he Diabolos? I've been assuming the Dark Lord is Diabolos because I expected Satan Himself to be scarier. :-) Actually because he reminds me a lot of Diabolos, and I think it might have been established somewhere that Diabolos is a distinct character from Satan who was invented so that they didn't actually have to have Satan on, in case it might be too intense for some of the audience? Observation: I noticed this when the audio was first released, but forgot to mention it. I don't believe that nurses in the States were ever addressed as "Sister" like they were in the UK (maybe still are?) unless they were also nuns, and many were. In Audrey's case, we know she's not a nun--she's married. I seem to remember being very surprised by some married nuns in the 1960's (after I'd just gotten it sorted out that nuns can't marry), but it's hard to feel too certain since I don't seem to recall any specifics, and I don't seem to be getting any straight answers from Google. At least I like to think Sister Audrey is a genuine nun, since that might make The Dark Lord a bit more evil. Good question - wish I actually knew the answer :-)

It was great also to Have Roy Thinnes star in this one, I do not believe he is in any of the other dramas . Great audio.

Roy was also in The Crimson Pearl, and I thought he was in something else as well but I can't figure out what it would have been now.

I really quite enjoy a playful Dark Lord and I'm for a diverse and specialized demonic er... structure. The Devil is the Founder and CEO. Diabolos runs Demonic Resources (internal HR) while the Dark Lord has a more outwardly facing focus (er... Community/Public Relations). Then again, I think there are a lot of competing factions in the underworld and The Devil doesn't have complete control. Like many things, I would be interested if Big Finish did an audio with a bit more of an exploration of the underworld- Angelique might need to file another complaint or something more creative, haha.
In the original series, they opted for Diabolos to likely get around censorship (they initially weren't even allowed to use the word "vampire" initially and the first onscreen same-sex biting didn't happen until much later in the series- poor Willie just had some weird wrist bandages). There were some folks who did not respond well to even Diabolos- I think Collinsport Historical Society has documented some of the articles.
