I bought my tickets last night and I've got the printout in my pocket and my question mark sweater vest in my car! I'm ready for this! The confirmation email contains a QR code that they can scan at the ticket office, but I would have appreciated it if they had gone the extra mile and made the code resemble the Seal of Rassilon

I really enjoyed it. It poked gentle fun of all of the elements people have noticing for the past thirty years (the bubble wrap dress, the toned spandex buns of the of the Raston Warrior Robot, Sarah Jane falling down an extremely gentle incline), but there was no malice in it.
Also, "It’s nice being out here on film. It was getting stuffy in there on video" was pretty hilarious.

Please accept a small amount of transatlantic envy! It sounds great and I am so pleased for all of you who got to enjoy it, really... (Grinds teeth quietly, puts ruffled shirt and velvet jacket away sadly.)
Do they sell pay-per-view over any streaming channel or suchlike? We are quite technically capable over here in the UK, what with our cast iron and steam engines and everything. I think we have something called 'broadband' so I might be able to access such a service...? Or do they ever appear on DVD?

I'm a uk resident, and I often buy mp3 riffs and VODs (video on demand) from Rifftrax.com. You can buy DVDs but I rather stream what I've bought from the website itself. www.rifftrax.com/As for the live shows, it all depends if they can get the rights of the original. The b movies and public domain shorts come out on DVD/on demand a few months later because it's either cheap or free to get the rights to the film they're riffing, but I'm not sure whether the BBC or the terry nation estate would want to keep them. (I have a feeling that's why the Peter Cushing VODs vanished from the site.) I hope they are at least able to create a non live MP3 version that can just sync with your own copy if that's the case. That's been the way they can riff the more blockbuster-y fare without getting into legal trouble.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering about since this is live - so, like the commentary CDs that have been produced to supplement some of the 'Doctor Who' DVDs. I'll keep an eye on their site in case.

From a Kickstarter email I got the morning of the show:
It wouldn't be the first time they couldn't put out a Live DVD. The Live version of STARSHIP TROOPERS was four years ago this month, but they've only got the MP3 version on the site. And then there's this Kickstarter email from yesterday...

"A giant plush toy! Its cuteness will destroy us all!" Given the amount of effort they put into the Five Doctors show- even going on a trip to Wales to see the sets, as well as BBC America promoting it, you'd hope they'd be some goodwill from the BBC to allow a MP3 release at least.

I cant speak to the MP3 version, but Rifftrax has just confirmed there will be no Live edition for sale on their site. Quoting the kickstarter email I just received in advance of tonight's second run of the movie...
